i'm not an intelligent enough basketball fan to analyze the game like so many of the great knowledgable experts here do. but i am a hardcore rox fan who really enjoys the game and knows good playing when i see it.

boy i got really mad when this team lost to some pretty crappy teams earlier this year (read my earlier posts if you don't believe me)...enough to become a fair-weathered fan for a bit (and not admitting it). but i'm sure as you read the many posts by people who first call themselves die-hard fans but then vent out all their frustrations when we lose, you have to admit that the rox sure make it easy for us to become band waggoners/fair-weathered fans...as much as we'd hate to admit it.

well i'm trying to change the way i think. if you can for a moment, try to forget your disappointment of this team after we lose to sucky teams; let's try to get to the heart of the problem instead and talk about that. ok so we lose to very crappy teams. cat sucks. fire rudy. we're young...so on, so on. we know very well who to put the blame on. but i want to see if we can push aside our initial frustration and really discuss WHY things are the way they are.

at first, losses to bad teams and wins against good teams was just a surprise to us. we were happy with the wins and extremely disappointed with the losses. but as we all know now, this has become a problem, because well...it just ain't right.

so what's the reason for this pattern of wins and losses?

it's obvious that cat isn't playing as well as he should be...but why? how is he different from previous seasons? so we need to fire rudy because he's not the right man for this young team. but what makes him a GREAT coach when we win and a BAD coach when we lose? why is this so? can he be just as inconsistent as the team itself?

i'd really love it if we could not JUST bash the team, but also discuss the WHYs and the HOWs. it's easy to just criticize the. but i'd like to see some thoughts backing up these claims. i guess it would truly help if we had some insider info. but we don't (speak out if we do!). we may not be able to help our team out with our comments, but senseless bashing doesn't help our board either.
