  1. to cut Matt Bullard, he is downright horrible, and bring in somebody who can shoot 3's and actually make them in the clutch, and who can play some defense, and drive to the hoop.

Sooooooo what he can crack jokes, and the whole team can laugh in unison with him, does that win games agains Sacramento or Dallas? HELL NO!!!!

drop him now he sucks, drop the Gordons Fisherman now

All Matt Bullard is asked to do is shoot three-pointers. He does that job well. Get off him.

I agree with Puedlfor.Although Bullard is limited to hitting the threes,he can still be useful to us,especially with the new zone defence rules.Bullard is also a cheaper option than Walt williams who needs to be traded along with Cato.

Bullard will be a FA this summer. The new rules will probably give Bull some additional value. He loves it here and it wouldn't surprise me if the Rockets and Bull already have a wink-wink in place where he signs for a veteran minimum (about $1.2M).

Bullard is aware of his limitations and plays within the Rockets' system (and himself). He is more bang for the buck than the Rockets will find anywhere with the $ they will have available. Maybe you prefer we sign Isiah Rider?

  5. Bullard shoots threes no better than Langhi, Langhi is younger and can do more....

"Get off of him".....he sucks, let this joke go, and lets get somebody who can score and play defense.

You know, you say he hits three's he cant shoot a three any better than Langhi or Gugliotta or Christian Laetner, BULLARD IS NOT A AUTOMATIC 3, by no means, he shoots 8 in a row when we're up by 25 but when we desperately need his 3, he is off, waaaaaaaaay off, off into his drumming

Do you know what a role-player is? Its a player who is only asked to perform a certain role. Matt Bullard's role is to shoot three's, something he does very well. And I seem to remember him draining several key threes in a 20pt comebck versus the Spurs.

    BTW, 3-point percentages
    Matt Bullard 40.4%
    Christian Laettner 30.8%
    Tom Gugliotta 25%

Want to make anymore stupid claims?

    OlajuWons -
Bullard was 20th in 3PT% for the entire league.

Since Langhi was 0-1 for the season, I'll take Bull for another year at a bargain price while we groom Langhi.

Why don't you give it a rest.

Besides a couple of airballs here and there, Langhi cant do much more.

Bullard stays. You are alone on this one Olajuwons

Do you remember a Houston-San Antonio game that happened in March at the compaq center?

We won that game by 4, without Matt Bullard we would have lost that game.

Matt shot 6 of 7 from 3 point range in that game. It was a close game when he did this too.

You keep missing my point. My point is that Bullard's role is just to shoot threes, not to play defense, not to be athletic and not to drive and score. It doesn't matter if he could do all that, if he could he would have a different role on the team, but he can't. But he can shoot.

I know there are better overall role players, there are several on the Rockets, but there are few who are better at their role than Matt Bullard. Role-players who are willing to play there role and are good at it, are increasingly difficult to find in the NBA. We have one here, don't throw him out.

All he does is shoot threes, thats all he's asked to do and he does it well. We don't have to pay a lot of money for him and he gets along with the rest of the team.

It's not restraint. I just don't care if he thinks I'm a middle aged yuppie.

Though I don't see anything wrong with being a fat-bellied bleacher creature. After all, where would Wrigley Field be without those.

Bullard is also a good utility player. He's not GREAT at any of the positions, but he is a servicable rebounder, not THAT horrible of a defender, and an excellent 3 point shooter. He has some offensive skills.

Bull can play the C, PF, or SF. He's not a GREAT C or PF, but he draws his man away from the basket, and can hit threes at an excellent clip. Whenever, wherever Rudy needs Bull, he goes in and gives 110%. His 110% may not be as much as other players' -- he may not be Dirk Nowitzki-like, but it's solid enough for him to have lasted for a while in the league. He's kindof like our team's Billy Spiers.

Stupid fact about Billy Spiers, I read he was the most average man in baseball, stat-wise. Across the board his stats were pretty much the major league average. Weird huh?

    the OlajuWons -

The first sign of ignorance is resorting to personal attacks on someones physiology. You are a textbook case of "don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up".

Aside from the fact that no one you mentioned does anything the Rocks need (please don't try to pass off Jim Jackson as great movement without the ball and lockdown "D"), you neglected 2 other little "facts" - McCloud is still on contract until 2003 and Parks hasn't MADE a
3pt shot since his rookie season (5 teams ago).

I don't know (or care to know) much about you as a person, but your basketball IQ is pathetic.
