love the props from Dream - but i think all these trophy names are stupid... imo... i mean if u want a Naismith trophy for the guy that invented the sport or something fine.... maybe somebody dies and you name a trophy after them... Walter Payton man of the year... cool otherwise it just seems like a marketing ploy or something... but maybe thats just my jaded perspective... lol
As was pointed out to me elsewhere...the view on the right makes it look like he's in 2 places at once, which is 100% appropriate.
How about "The GOAT on the court". No backcourt player is touching him. Don't come at me with any disrespect.
Also of note, the NBA's Defensive POY trophy was just named after the most skilled offensive center in NBA history and still there are people that don't rank Dream in the Top 10.
The biggest honor for Hakeem Olajuwon and the Houston Rockets since the back to back NBA championships. It's so well deserved for our champion and leader on the basketball court.
They need a lifetime achievement type of award for him. Since the self proclaimed GOAT is not the best at literally any one category, he can do a longevity award but even then Kareem has the argument. The "LeBron James Accumulated Stats Award" voted for by LeBron James for LeBron James. I got it. Perfect for this era. The "LeBron James Runner Up Award." Everyone gets a trophy! If only rookie Karl Malone didn't have to play with that black hole Adrian Dantley and John Stockton played starter minutes, and Malone didn't join the Lakers his final season and chucked away in Utah, he could have beaten Kareems points records, and we could have all laughed together at anyone calling him the GOAT. "All time scoring leader counts as 2 championships, Mickey Mouse counts as 2 and the 3-1 comeback counts as 2." - Nick Wrong *Just hatin, it's okay to be a top 5 all time and behind Jordan to most. In actuality, the Eastern Conference MVP could have easily been named after LeBron tbh, but i think he's disqualified from that because that was the Leastern Conference during LeBron's reign while Bird played when the east was at it's strongest.
The John Wall 'GOT PAID' trophy... awarded to the player who pocketed the most cash while contributing the least to their team! lol
Cool. Not sure about that Jerry West Clutch Player of the Year trophy. How do you even vote on something like that? Clutch time happens in the playoffs, no the regular season. And I thought Jerry West hated the nickname Mr. Clutch.
gee 6 trophies... so thats 6 categories u can show highlights of the nominees... and u name all the awards after old school guys - so u can show classic clips... bridging the generations.... how much ya figure ESPN or whoever is gonna pay for the rights to stream the awards show? NBA jus out there building 'content' for a buck - and to help enhance their 'brand image'... lol
