Well, Philly has officially thrown their hat into the ring to land the biggest draft prospect in the past decade (outside of Lebron, of course). I think it's narrowed down to four teams now. Philly - this goes without saying. Hell, I wouldn't be suprised if they traded Webber just to put the other teams out of their misery. If I'm putting down money, Philly is my horse. New York - They still have a shot, but they'll have to work pretty hard, now. Expect a Marbury for John Salmons and Corliss Williamson type trade pretty soon Charlotte - There is no real leader...nobody to take control of a game. The Bobcats just have a bunch of guys that are OK. Okafor and p*rn Star Morrisson do have some skills, though, so they could make a late season run. Atlanta - They're a dark horse right now with Joe Johnson playing really well, but any team with Tyronne Lue as its second leading scorer is doomed for failure. Teams out of the running: Memphis - with Gasol back, they'll climb back and win 25-30 games. New Jersey - Not with Kidd and Carter. They'll make a late season run for the division title.
Chicago owns the rights to swap draft picks with New York next year because of the Eddy Curry trade. So Knicks have no chance at all.
If Charlotte ended up nabbing Oden, they could become a very good team pretty quickly. Felton, Morrison, Okafor, and Oden is a good nucleus.
Come on now, let's not start all this "Gred Oden might stay in school" nonsense. The only decision he'll have to make is whether to wear the black suit or the grey suit on draft night...
Um, this guy looks to have all the goods....even more polished on the block than I expected. If he can turn into Yao + Amare combined (say, Yaomare), watch out. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/psqM-8Ae0Kg"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/psqM-8Ae0Kg" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
He looks like the best center to come out of the US in a very long time. He is shooting over 50% from the FT line with his left hand, which is his off-hand.
Those were pretty good highlights. Looks like he has no business playing college ball and should be in the NBA right now.
I say Philly will finish with the worst record in the NBA. Even if they had kept AI, they would still be stinking. When Andre Miller is your best offensive player, you're screwed.
3 out of 4 shots were dunks. Not impressive. At the NBA level everyone is bigger - he won't be able to dunk at will.
I hope Chicago or Charlotte lands him. Chicago because I love the team and city. Charlotte cause Okafor and Oden is sick.
