Here's to my first thread: This has been an idea that has seriously been on my mind for the longest time, we need to fill up that 15th roster spot, and if the wizard doesn't make any roster adjustment, who could we fit with the money we have? Robert Horry of course to the vets minimum. He is a big, he can crash the boards, block a shot every so often, obviously deadly from the 3-point mark, and has the veteran playoff experience I think he would be a great fit with the 400k or so we still have left. This is not some drunk late night idea I just had, I whole-heartedly believe he would be an excellent in a department we could use more help in. And if anything, he's the best good luck charm you could ask for
He was so much better as a player prior the San Antonio stage, but at this stage of his career we're in denial if we say Horry has not be Spurminized.
He is the active player with most rings (6). Always be the right team at right time. Maybe he can bring some good luck to Rockets. With all the injury troubling Rockets all these years, could it be a jersey buried under Toyota center like what the Red Sox fan did to the Yankees? Just kidding.
Honestly, I'm not sure Horry would have been any better. Can he even get up and down that court anymore?
I'd weep with joy. Even if he only plays a few ceremonial minutes in the playoffs, how great would it be to see him return, after all these years in the wilderness, and retire as a Rocket? It gives me goosebumps. (Btw I've been coveting this scenario -- and Cassell -- for the last 5 or so years).
This was not meant to evoke any sense of nostalgia from bringing back a player from the championship days so that he can finish off his career here. That is irrelevant The reason I made the thread is because I whole-heartedly believe that he would be a damn good piece to fit with the 400k we have left. I'd rather have him over a P.J. Brown, and Alonzo is going to Miami if anything.
