This comments I found from another BBS .. think what u guys think... keep in mind this is a Heat's fan perspective of the game...
    .............................................

First the Heat fail to show up in the first half, spotting the Rockets an easy 23 point lead. For this there is no excuse. Their offense was clueless and their defense was...well, it wasn't. An apology should be made to all fans who were expecting two teams to show up and play.
Then when the Heat were at their lowest Riley switched defenses and went to a full court press and then a hard double team every time Mobley touched the ball. This was
highly successful and got the Heat back into the game.
Using this strategy they climbed back within 3 points and had momentum. Then in a move that still leaves me sputtering in rage and confusion, Riley pulled away the press and the double. Immediately the Rockets pulled away again.
Now at this point you'd figure Riley would employ the strategy that was working, but not Riles, nooooooo. He lets the Rockets get 9 points up, then uses the press again for one play. That play caused the Rockets to turn the ball over on a shot clock violation. Alright! Let's go Heat! Use that defense! But no. Back to man to man, and the Rockets get the edge again.

What goes through a coaches mind to make him stop wanting to win? Why would Riley abandon a system that was so obviously working? It wasn't as if it were only partly
successful, it was working almost every single trip down court. His lack of sight and sense left me screaming in anger and disgust at the television! I'm surprised he
couldn't hear me, I know everyone in my neighborhood could!!
They used the press a few times after that, all with good results, but it was too infrequent and much too late to make a difference.
This loss is one shared almost equally by Riley and by his players. The players refused to give any effort the first half, and Riley refused to let them win the second
    half.

    A few other notes:
Moochie Norris, the high 'froed one, used his herky-jerky style to good advantage and caused what little defense the Heat played to break down as he got past his primary defender.
Hardaway won the battle of the point guards when he got into Francis's head. Francis was called for a flagrant for high sticking Tim with an elbow and then following it up with a two handed push. After that incident Francis was ineffective.
Anthony Mason was charged with the duty of covering the Dream when Riley elected to go with a small starting line-up.
What a terrible night, and worse of all was having to suffer Bullards three pointers ...ohh, the agony!
    ___________________________________________

some good points made of Riley's style... and yeah why didnt he stick w/it ? I remember Bill stating that Rudy brought in Moochie to bring stability again as the heat were pressing so much... I guess it wk cause Riley inmediately stopped the pressing after that....

The Heat poster is missing (at least) the following points:

    1) The Heat were in the second game of a back to back.

    2) These minutes were played on the previous night:
    Hardaway - age: 34 / min: 37
    Mason - age: 33.9 / min: 43
    Jones - age: 29 / min: 42
    Grant - age: 28.7 / min: 40

    3) When the Heat were playing in Cleveland, the Rockets were practicing in AAA (Miami's Arena).

    4) The press was not worked on in the Rockets' practice because they did not think the Heat would or could run it given the conditions (indirect quote from KT postgame interview).

    5) The press only worked when Cat was in heavy ISO-mode. Riley took it off as a response to Moochie who came in and started to distribute the ball rendering it much less effective. IMHO, Moochie negated the Heat press.

    6) The Heat run was stymied on the offensive end when Rudy put KT on Mason.

I don't care for Riley personally, but he is an excellent coach at the matchup part of the game. Without Zo, Riley had no answer for Moochie and KT. They are the real source of this fans' displeasure.

Had Zo not gone down this heat team would have been one of the best in basketball, and certainly one of the toughest,as it stands now the heat are lacking that one goto guy who can get his shot no matter what.Anthony Mason brings alot of positives to the floor but the intensity he had last night is tough for any player to sustain over an 82 game season.Hardaway's best days are behind him.Brian Grant would have been the perfect weakside compliment to Alonzo but without Zo commanding double teams Brian just isn't as effective. And while Eddie Jones is a fine player the next double team he commands will be his first. The heat will have a tough time until they find that one play they can goto to get an easy bucket.

So I guess all 100 people who actually went to the game were disappointed.

Did anybody else notice the crowd, or should I say, lack of one?

I saw the game im gona tell you wat happend they used the full court with ANTHONY CARTER at Point then TImy came back and it didnt work they tried to get back to it but it was to late the rockets ended the game with 3 pg;s not just 1 in Moochi , they ended the game with Mobes, Moochi, and Steve: the full court press wont work with them and if miami would wana finish the game with a full court press thell be dead tired and with Tim Bug in the bench cuz his knee wouldnt support it
