Honestly, some of my best friends are very liberal-- just joshing with you... although I understand that Liberia is a very nice place this time of year! Maxine waters just PUTS HER FOOT IN HER MOUTH, that's all. Someone needs to take this and make one of those candy bar commercials out of it... "Need a moment?" Who is that Twix or Snickers or somebody?
How will industry live now that we are returning a Liberal America... like the dark ages of the Clinton era back when I worked in a gulag. At least we have non-liberal states like Mississippi, where things are conservative and developed.

Nationalizing the oil supply in a national emergency is not outside the bounds of the US Government. Uncle Sam controlled the economy in a vicegrip during WW2. Back then the government even rationed food. What's sad is trying to figure out who is more clueless, Maxine Waters, for lacking the vocabulary to articulate her threat, or the Fox News clones for equating her with Hugo Chavez.
And the national emergency is............................ not drilling?! She didn't lack the vocabulary to articulate her threat; she just used language that she regretted but came so naturally. Her "lack" was an inability to dig herself out of the hole she jumped into with both feet. Did she or did she not threaten the Shell CEO over a suggestion about drilling on our own continent for new oil resources which would help break the Arab ties that bind us to an unstable region? Why are all the liberal wacko usual suspects staying out of this discussion? Where are you guys/gals? -- one of those guys you call a "Wingnut"
Waters' comments were pretty obviously out of bounds. I would never advocate for nationalizing oil supplies unless we were facing an ACTUAL national emergency (major war in which OPEC embargoes the US, something along those lines). Taxing those companies more heavily and using the proceeds to fund research into alternative energy sources would be a much better threat to make.

Ah... Maxine Waters. What she says at random hearings goes. We know this because Maxine Waters is black like Obama, so she must have power like Obama and we know Obama has dictator powers. Yep... we are gonna nationalize the oil industry cuz Maxine Waters says so.
Debate what? That we should nationalize the oil industry (Venezuela style)? or that Maxine Waters is black?
