I don't understand why this hasn't already been done. Yao needs a lifetime contract with the Rockets organization to promote the Rockets to the whole nation of China.

We need Yao working for us to help us recruit some serious free agents. Use all those Chinese connections to get huge endorsement deals for them. That way there is no question about the size of our market. We should be China's team.

Why isn't Yao getting paid to scout, recruit, and promote the Rockets?

maybe....because he actually OWNS a team over in china...along with his own wine company.

he's an entrepreneur, doesn't want to be a slave for an organization!

I agree with the OP. Yao made us a big market team for a decade.

    Do Not Want.

He passes to the corner when he's in the paint.

Yao has hardly been around. I don't think he really cares too much about giving back to the organization. That's mostly for older guys who have nothing else going. He's young enough to still do his own thing right now.
