I have no fondness for Mr. Bush nor Mr. Kerry because I fear Mr. Kerry's foreign policy decisions but yet I fear Mr. Bush's economic policy decisions. Of late I have begun to study the character of both candidates, including an interesting aspect: their choices of spouses. IMO, Mrs. Bush stands head and shoulders above Mrs. Kerry in common sense, tact, social graces and an understanding of the common person. Mr. Bush earns a point for his judgment. However, if I do vote for Mr. Kerry, I fear putting another psychotic like Mrs. Clinton into a perch close to the Oval Office but at least not in an elected position with which to do harm to the nation. The silver lining in Mr. Kerry's election, of course, is that Mrs. Clinton's plans for the White House are forever mousetrapped -- which is a very good thing. So, here I am again: confounded by the choices.
Mrs. Bush is ahead in the kill count, having killed her ex boyfriend while she was in high school, but that evens out the fact that Kerry killed Viet Cong in the Vietnam War and Bush killed his brain cells with coke and alcohol. The fact that you call Hilary Clinton a psychotic makes it obvious that your initial post is just a troll.
Just remember that you're voting for the man, not the wife. My wife has met Laura before and found her charming, and down to earth. Teresa is irritating to me, and I'm, as you know, a Democrat. Heck, her husband has been irritating, frequently. The question is, who would make the better President? For me, it's easy... John Kerry. All I have to do is consider who will be filling the Supreme Court vacancies that will come up, and the large numbers of lifetime Federal judges. Whoever is elected will fight terrorism. How they do it will be quite different, in my opinion, but I think that Kerry will be more effective at it than Bush. Mrs. Nixon reminded me of a Stepford Wife. Did she strike you that way? Keep D&D Civil!!
From what I have seen on TV, Mrs. Bush seems like a great, friendly, down-to-earth person. Mrs. Kerry seems VERY irritating. Those factors would not determine my vote, though, if I could vote in this election.
Yep. Strange First Ladies go way, way back. For example, look at Mary Todd Lincoln. However, this is a reflection of a President's judgment.
Teresa definitely doesn't help the Kerry campaign. Not many people can identify with billionaire heiresses. And some of her comments, including her belittling of housewives, seem just downright tactless. But like many people have already said, I doubt it will have much effect.
In order to judge your judgment in deciding whether or not to take this thread seriously, please answer the following questions: Are you married? If not, why not and what does that say about you as a person and a poster? If so, how old is your wife? Does she hold any degrees? Is she religious? Same religion as you? What's the age difference? How long did you date before marrying? Was she a virgin when she met you? When you married? Who else did she date before you? Have you both been faithful? Do you have children? If so, how many? What are their ages, interests and school records? Has any of them ever been in trouble? If you don't have children, what does that say about you? How would you feel if you went in for a job interview and the employer asked to meet and interview your wife so he could judge your most intimate relationship as a way of deciding what kind of judgment you'd show in your job? As of the last question of the final debate, this whole "issue" has gone from petty to ridiculous to totally pissing me off. And it says more about your judgment than either of the candidates' that you consider this a relevant factor in deciding who'd be a better president. p.s. I like you thumbs, but I really can't take anyone seriously when they call Hillary Clinton a psycho. Disagreeing with her politics, disliking her personally (though you don't know her), even thinking she's a b**** (which also totally confounds me), fine. Psycho? That's just silly.
It would seem that way. But then again anyone can seem that way when their husband might b**** slap you if you ever questioned their judgment. I think she should stick to reading books to children instead of trying to wax intelligent on stem cell or gay marriage. But that's just me... As far as THK is concerned, why are men threatened by strong women?
we're not threatened by strong women, we're pissed off by irritating women, and men, for that matter.
There is a difference between disagreeing with someone's views and being "threatened" by them because they're "strong."
Yeah, people must disagree with Hilary Clinton's political views, that's why allegations that she's a lesbian drug smuggling murderer show up in the Wall Street Journal.
LOL!!! Well I would find a subservient, submissive, obedient woman very irratating. btw thumbs I owe you an email. been slamming at work this week.
You are, of course, correct in the fact that I am not a qualified analyst. I am basing the "psychotic" remark on some of the things my cousin observed first hand when he worked for their campaigns in Arkansas. A few of these observations were similar to some of the anecdotes in Dick Morris' accounts of the Clinton years.
