The turnovers are a big problem. Most uptempo teams have a turnover problem. They risk the turnover for the easy two, instead of slowing it down and trying to score in the halfcourt. The rockets need to learn when to slow it down. ------------------ "You've got 6 fouls, use them well" -Derrick Coleman
The Fast Break- It is such an exciting play. It can make you stand up and cheer or can crush your hopes, leaving you to wonder how such an easy layup/dunk could be missed. THis team turned into and is quickly becoming one of the most exciting fast break teams in the league. This process happened before we even got Steve. Steve added the excitement, but the real hero of our fast break is Shandon Anderson. Putthis guy on a break and he is flat out consistent, everytime. He doesnt try for some unbelievable shot or crazy dunk (although he can), but he puts it in the basket. I really hope we can make more use of Shandon on the fast break this year as I think he feeds from that. Also, Mo Taylor--can there be a thread where he isnt mentioned--should be a solid fast break type of guy. If I was RUdy the main thing Id preach this fall to improve the team beyond what he already does is decreasing turnovers (smart decisions, better ballhandling, etc) and forcing turnovers on the other team to turn into fast breaks. If we can do that, we are a solid rebounding team, an improving halfcourt defensive team, and we have playmakers on offense in the halfcourt game. Decreas the turnovers, and force the other team to make more is the key to success next season. ------------------ Jackie Treehorn treats objects like women!
