This article is old, but read it.

    http://espn.go.com/page2/s/simmons/010509.html

This is why Van Gundy wants to trade Cuttino Mobley.

It's why the Celtics traded Antoine.

The Boston-Houston trade is not dead yet.

    Give it 72 hours.

Note to self: Somehow find a way to injure Patrick Ewing during playoffs.

See now Danny Ainge... err, "banner17," that's what you get making trades by reading ESPN articles.

    No means no. :p

In the case of Antoine Walker, it works. In the case of Mobley, it does NOT work. Mobley does not receive a gigantic amount of publicity and he is not a vital part of JVG's scheme. Which means he's not receiving more than his share of the team responsibility.

This theory works when a good player earns too much respect and the team/institution overvalues them. IF IT SO HAPPENS that a player with high potential or a team with high chemistry resides on that same team, then team will go on to win big. If not, they'll falter.

Case in point: Bulls minus MJ did not win championships. Therefore, MJ's share of team responsibilty was equal to his talent/capability. It did not exceed it. Mobley's share of team responsibilty does not exceeds his capability. However, Francis is a much better case for this theory, because he is a ballhog and no player can outscore the other team night after night on his own. Francis and the Rockets will succeed because of JVG's ability to temper and manage teams.

If we trade Mobley, it's definitely NOT because of the Ewing Theory. It's because we are _stacked_ at the 2 spot: Cat, JJ, Pike, Boki, Franchise. If we trade Mobley, it's because we are in DIRE NEED of a small forward and power forward.

The Ewing theory is shyte. I don't have any particular love for the old ogre, but he did win an NCAA title. Against Dream, one year I think.

I was just thinking... if Kobe goes to jail, does the Ewing Theory dictate that the Fakers will become our indominable super-race overlords?

Boki's a three. He's too big to be a two.

Well, I guess us Celtics fans are having the last laugh. I don't think Danny Boy will be trading for Eddie Griffin after what happened this morning. Good thing we decided to wait a few days before pulling the trigger...

    Get it? "pulling the trigger"

    LOL!

    Cheers!

    haha.

I'd rather cut Eddie outright than lose Cuttino for an older, slower player and a total stiff.

I guess your definition of "the last laugh" is spending all your time trying to convince yourselves that LaStiff for Walker was a good deal. Have fun with that one.
