In the newest magazine for "ESPN the Magazine" they had their annual "top 100 sports moments." Number one was when the base ball all-star game was called.

But more important, if anything in the magazine is, was at number 48, "Ming Dynasty."

Some Rookies lobby to get their lucky number. Fine, but why leave luck to chance? Just before becoming the NBA's first foreign-born-and-built No.1 pick, Yao Ming became the first to apply feng shui in choosing his Rockets uniform number. After nearly picking 12 (his first number ever) or the 15 he wore for the Shanghi Sharks, Yao went with 11 becasue, says a friend, "The geometry resembles smooth upward pointing lines, and Yao hopes his adjustment to the NBA can be a smooth one as well."

I just thought it was his "lucky" number...

I've never heard anyone pick a number for anything outside luck or a reoccuring number like a birthday or 76 for 7'6". I think Ming's brain may be one of the most underrated things about him. I'm not saying that one incident makes him some kind of basketball genius, but it's not exactly a bad sign either.

Random question- when they drew the lottery balls for the 1st pick, wasn't the last ball #11?

I agree Shaqs IQ is less than his shoe size, he has demonstrated this time and time again. He also looks like a big Chilly Willy but CW has more skills than him he's just a fat @ss. But he does have the rings gotta give him that having said that I never liked him his ego is bigger than his love handles.

    close, the 3rd ball...

    http://www.nba.com/news/lottery_recap.html

    Rockets Defy Offs:

Fourteen numbered ping-pong balls were placed in a drum and three drawings were held. The combination of 4-8-11-13 came up first, one of the 89 out of 1,000 assigned to the Rockets. Combinations assigned to the Bulls and Warriors came up next.

The Rockets were assured the No. 1 choice by virtue of having been assigned the first combination - 13-8-11-4.

I would take Shaq on this team even with his low IQ.

With Ming and Shaq in our team, every player of the other team would have fouled out before halftime.

    :D :D :D
