...Deckard might remember, that likeable old fart...those times at the beach, in the late 1960's chasing the pretty California girls with the ultra sexy Corvette StingRay! I am a big fan of 1970's era muscle cars, and one of the best things about being a high school senior in the early 1990's was my 1970 Charger in pristine condition...I eventually sold it for the funds to buy a new car during college (like a fool), but no other "newer" car could ever take it's place for emotional reasons... By this time in the 1990's (or even the 1980s...save the Firebird) the idea of a true vintage sports car was a shell of what once was, such as the late 1960's or 1970's types... Who here didn't wish they had a Starsky and Hutch type car?...Ok, er...nevermind, showing my age now... .. Of course you could say..Hey what about the new model Z06 Corvette?, sure it's a true muscle type sports car, but what else is out there?...right now by American car companies? Not much if more than 2 or 3 other choices...Besides, the Corvettes and Mustang Cobras are unlikely to continue due to the very tough/strict laws on emissions and mileage The point is we have reached a time period that you can start from the mid 1950's which has reached it's course, and while I acknowledge the reasoning, I can't help but to imagine that shiny red 1970 Charger is still parked in my garage... http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/19/business/19emissions.html?_r=1
I had a 1970 Javelin, 3 Speed, with a killer 8-track sound system. Summer of '77, while making a left turn into the parking lot at southwestern, i got slammed in the side by a car travelling over 50 MPH. spun me around, knocked the car over 90 ft, and pushed the passenger side door all the way over to the drivers side. I walked away with some glass in my hair... i loved that car. image might be mildly NSFW. Spoiler
I hope so, but who knows with the current technology. I hope it's not the end of the Corvette, but that may already be decided.
come on Rox you can feel just as manly in this...women go crazy for these personally, i'm more worried about trucks than muscle cars (i'm more of a cruiser)

basso, you're not saying that's your car are you? you do realize we can tell where the image is from. I didn't assume it was your car in the first post, and i'm guessing you're just being light hearted in the post directly above. I figured you just found a funny pic with your car from your youth.
Uh, thanks for the compliment, ROX, backhand and all. My dear departed cousin had several Vettes and loved to buy one, restore it, and soup it up. My favorite was the one he had with the classic split rear window. A real screamer! One of my best friends used to have a red '58 that he drove to Cali many times, trying to beat his time on each road trip. He got surprising mileage with it, especially cruising in West Texas at 100 mph. That was pre-radar. Those were the days!
thanks, i'm familiar with how the interwebs work. no, not my car, however, the post above yours is true.
