I've been thinking about this for awhile and Steve Francis inspired me to start a thread about this.

Everyone says that Steve Francis' greatest strength is his heart / passion but that also seems to be one of his greatest weakness. Francis' game is about forcing his passion onto the court but that also leads to forced shots, off target passes, and dribbling too much basically the stuff that makes you want to pull your hair out about his game. I've noticed some of the samethings about my own life in terms of there are things that I need to have passion about to do well in but that also causes problems. For instance about two weeks I had a meltdown at a show my band was playing because we had a really small turnout and a bunch of technical problems. Thinking about it shouldn't have lost my cool but at the same time I've realized for me to play well though I need to be passionate about it but when things don't go right that passion can turn negative pretty quickly. Sports have been sort of the same way and even though I would've liked to be more stoic and workmanlike in competition I realized a while ago I need to passionate to the point of being slightly pissed off to perform at my best.

Just wondering if this something that many of you have noticed about yourself and if so how do you deal with it?

I, too, feel like I need to be a little pissed off/angry when I drill into people's teeth. It helps get those cavities out faster.

    Sishir,

I know what you mean. My wife is the most intense person I have ever met. She loves hard, and hurts hard. Vanilla Ice's immortal album "To the Extreme" fits her pretty well! :)

We "Latinos" or "Hispanics" or "Mexican Americans" or "Mexicans" or "people of Spanish ancestry" are the most passionate people you'll ever meet. We love our football, we love our food, we love our families. We will keep a job forever 'cuz "it's close to home", and we're passionate about it. We will do our best to defend our honor, family, values and principles. I am blabbering about and yapping my ass away and don't know what the f*ck to say anymore 'cuz I am so passionate about my culture. F*ck.

I don't love football, I hate it actually. All my jobs have been extremely far and the ones that were close I didn't stay at. I sometimes feel bad for our people because of how extremely mediocore they are. We Mexicans are raised to be so negative and pessimistic. But we are pretty passionaite, especially those who drink. They seem pretty passionate about beer.

Yeah, beer part is SO TRUE!! They LOVE their futbol. Well, I think we, Mexicans, are a bunch of hard working people. They have to find a way to make money. Okay, don't turn this into D&D about the "illegal immigration"!

    OK, not THAT CRAZY!!!

It just makes me sad that the same attitude towards work isn't used towards education. Its only about money, surviving, making the little that you can and thats all. But yea lets not turn this into an immigration thread. I just wish my Mexican people could stop being so mediocre.

Wow... I had not expected this thread to turn into a Mexican self-examination thread.
