I'm sure most of you are aware of this case. The pregnant missing wife who went for her normal morning jog only to disappear. Then, you have the husband who was caught in a big lie about saying he graduated from college and planned(said he was accepted) to attend medical school at UNC when, in fact, he accomplished neither. Then, a day or two before Lori disappears, her co-workers overheard her conversing with UNC school officials about on-campus housing(as they were moving there in a week or two) only to overhear her saying things that made them think her husband never applied and/or was accepted to the school. She then leaves work early crying from the phone call never to return the following Monday. Her side of the family doesn't believe the husband is a suspect because they were so in love. Meanwhile, he wigged out and is now in a psychiatric hospital because he is distraught(or overcome by guilt). This reminds me of the Scott Peterson case and how they were supposed to be so in love until his boat full of lies surfaced.

If I had to guess, then I would say this guy is behind his wife's disappearance. There are just too many coincidences here. Maybe he didn't want her exposing his secret lies made up about how successful he was supposed to be as he felt he could keep up this charade for years to come. He was so afraid of being seen as a failure that he couldn't have her "spill his beans". Maybe this caused him to flip out?

I'm just saying that it is way to convenient for wife to find out he has been lying and then end up disappearing at the very same time. Maybe he hired someone to do the deed for him while he was off in buying a matress?

I believe this guy is GUILTY and I would be very surprised if it comes out otherwise. It's just way too convenient in my opinion for his "success" lie to come out at the exact same time as his wife disappears. This could have caused a huge friction between them that ended horribly. But, we will see I guess. Do you guys have any feelings or opinions on this? There is obviously foul play involved but...did he or was he involved in this foul play? DID HE DO IT? I wish I could believe he was completely innocent but his huge lie wasn't exactly trivial in nature. He lied about something so huge about the essence of who he was and who he would become. He didn't want to be seen as the failure in the family. This could push someone over the edge easily.

I'm going to need some physical evidence connecting him to her disappearance / murder before I would say he did it

I dunno this for sure, but without a body, much less a murder weapon, isn't it very very difficult to convict someone of murder?

Circumstantial evidence is a muther. I hope the prosecution has more than that to indict her husband, or else he could be another Mel Ignatow.

    Sad but nice thread Surf...

Agreed. Is it just me or do I see these "random white girl" missing stories every other day on Fox news?

What about when that 7 year old black girl was kidnapped for ransom in Philly only to later escape and tell the police where she was held? It didn't get the Jon Benet Ramsey treatment, but it was a pretty big story, even before the girl's heroics.

Besides that, I do agree with you. You'd think only pretty white girls ever went missing.

Well, mr. dumbass husband...who apparently probably was buying the matress because he murdered his wife on the other one(or disposed of her body with it)...was arrested and put in jail today.

    Good for him...the dumbass.

I don't think its so much about the "white girl" but the white man that the media love to demonize who are always behind these murders, kidnappings, disappearances etc. After watching all this garbage you would think only white men commited vile acts.

Or that woman from Texas? What's her name? The one who drowned her kids?

Anyway this is all so sad! What compels someone to murder his or her spouse? It's beyond comprehensible.

Actually, the part about Susan Smith I was talking about was the manhunt that ensued for her mythical black carjacker....

Also, Charles Stuart pulled a similar scam in boston a long time ago.

Who gives a damn about someone getting shot up in Crenshaw? Happens too much to be a story.
