I've challenged prospect expert and internet tough guy Snake Diggit to a bet on Daz Cameron. The Snake Diggit claims Cameron will be a breakout prospect in High A Ball next year. It's a $20 bet. Breakout prospect in A Ball I'd say should make him a top 50 prospect but I'll settle for top 100 prospect. If Daz isn't that next year then Snake Diggit will donate $20 to the tip jar. If Daz is a breakout then I'll donate $20 to the tip jar/ Admittedly, I know nothing about evaluating prospects so this is a bit of an unfair bet for me but I'm willing to honor it if Snake Diggit will promise not to beat me up. ACCEPT THE WAGER!
There is way too much wiggle room in Snake's post. First, Cameron has to finish with the numbers he posted and then he said that MAY be setting him up for a breakout season in high A. So, even if he meets the first part, the word MAY makes this an unenforceable wager on your part. No way Snake can lose this bet, he can only win. Snake should definitely take this bet.
I've set the terms. There's no wiggle room which is the point of calling out his internet expert garbage post. It's also why he won't accept the bet.
Except that he never said he would be a breakout prospect, just that he may be one. Also, here is the slash line for the current #99 prospect Bo Bichette who is in A ball (#100 is a pitcher): .399/.462/.643/1.105 250+ at bats If this guy is #99, no way Cameron can be 100.
this random stuff is unproveable. What list is top 50/100 for these purposes? On what date, because they change all the time? It's also irrelevant. Seems like the more important bet is whether or not he'll have an impact in the big leagues. Otherwise, what are we talking about? Who's better between Wiltjer and Spanoulis?
Bichette and Vlad Jr. are two damn good hitting prospects for the Jays. I read a rumor before last year's draft that the Astros liked Bichette but they went with Ronnie Dawson instead. I'm sure Bichette's older brother struggling with a similiar nonconventional swing made some teams hesitant when it came time to pull the trigger.
