Kobe Bryant <a href ="http://www.sacbee.com/sports/kings/articles/2001/may/20010508kings5.html">in the Sacramento Bee</a> on whether the Kings play illegal defense:

"It's funny. During the All-Star break we had a long discussion, just joking around. It was myself, Shaq, (Rick) Adelman, (Chris) Webber, Vlade, just joking around about illegal defenses -- 'No, we don't play illegal defense.' 'Yeah, right.'

"In his pregame talk (before the All-Star Game), Adelman's standing up there saying, 'Defense, just pack the lane in. Illegal defenses -- don't worry about that.' And I looked at him and I said, 'Uh, huh. See?' "

Since it was the All Star game, I wonder if Adelmann just figured it would be all one-on-one anyway so why hade a D strategy. Think I'll watch more closely tonight. It won't matter next year anyway.

The Faker$ really missed Greg Foster.
