Hate crime is a stand alone thing. It exists sometimes hard to prove but stories like the dylab roof are hate crime and should be fully punished. So we are supposed to make team names and immediately he is wanting to call us the "b & w's " and Im like "what is that?" and he's talking about him the black guy and me the white guy. So naturally in his mind we were the b & ws or some other variation and reference to us being a black guy and a white guy. I was a bit surprised that was all he saw this innocent pairing. I mean god forbid we call ourselves the eagles or hawk or something normal? Instead it has to be about race? He didnt see me as an equal or anything or innocent but immediately race? weird and a bit creepy. I feel bad for him honestly since I dont know how he must think in terms of such a binary way. 100% race obsessed.
