What this guy has done, over the course of this season is way above his paycheck. Does anyone else agree? Proabably my favorite game this year was against the celtics and when chuck was just owning KG. Never been so happy for the guy!
He should get paid his market rate.. No matter how good the ChuckWagon is, he is still only 6'6"... Great backup but not a starting Center against elite teams.. If Chuck was 6"11 that man would get paid like an All-Star.
Under current CBA rules, I figure his market rate is 5-6 mil for 3-4 years. Less under new CBA rules.
I disagree, he has no offense and is too short, he would be the next Mutumbo if he was taller and get paid well
saying he would be the next mutombo is ridiculous...So I guess if Shane was 7' ft he would be the next Mutombo too since he was a shotblocking machine.... Chuck is what he is..a great basketball player....The moment you overpay him, he becomes content ...ala Ben Wallace
a solid backup. but they shouldnt let paying him be the deciding factor of landing them a legit 6'11+ c
He'll get paid. If not by us then someone else. His defense is so good (not "good for 6'6" but actually good) that he managed to keep our defensive rating with Scola and Martin in the lineup at an admirable 106 while also being the most efficient offensive player and excellent facilitator. That's pretty insane if you think about it. He's no Yao but definitely worth every penny he'll get.
Good thing he's not on another lottery team or else he'd just be another guy putting up stats on a bad team!
I would not worry about Chuck getting paid or coming back. The owner talked about having lunch with Chuck to discuss the state of the team. When this happens, I'm pretty sure they don't want him to go anywhere.
My point is he should get paid fair market value for a PF of his skillset and ability, which is considerably more. The fact that he has the versatility to guard 3's, 4's, or 5's makes him that much more deserving of a nice payday.
No worries guys. By the time the next season comes medicine would have taken a step up, and Yao Ming will have a titanium ankle, securing our #1 playoff spot. Or we can trade for another center. Either way is fine
Chuck Hayes Ummmmm No Hell No and No again!!! He can be paid what he is currently making or less. The guy is a 6'5 PF/C. He needs to be happy he has a contract.
