The 1st half was a struggle, nobody could hit shots, making shots was a little struggle, McGrady and Yao were missing shots, many of them in the 1st half, but in the 2nd half they tuned it up and started destroying the Cavaliers, about 7-8 minutes before the game ended we were down 16, and start playing with heart and as a team, and lowered it all the way down to 2, and then this is where the REFS destroyed us, calling no fouls, McGrady was slapped, shoulda been 3 free throws, Yao was pulled by Ilgauskas, 2 free throws there, oh and that was a clean steal on RAFER, he didnt even get slapped, we should have won, but the refs will always be refs, they will screw us, but Yao admitted that he cannot wait for his next game, and T-MAC should be angry for tonight, the next game, which is against the Celtics, we will absolutely destroy the Celtics to start our run with T-Mac and Yao Ming, judgement day begins on March 7th.
No excuses. The Rockets will be hitting their stride not till 3rd week in March. I am not worried and hopefully Bonzi can get in and contribute. I have a good feeling but the only worry is at the backup pg. I hope CD can come with someone to help out.
Since I gave DaDakota's chemistry issue thread 5 star, I am giving this one 5 star as well, just to be fair, cause I am really not sure whether chemistry is there or not.
I actually agree with you. This is the first loss I haven't been horribly depressed about in ages. We hardly did anything wrong in the 4th quarter. The calls, and the bounces on the rim, just didn't go our way. But I saw more heart, hustle, and big time plays out there than I've seen in a while. I saw signs that we are about to go on a tear... God I hope I'm right.
We will do better and better as season goes on. I am not worry about win or lose as long as we glue better as a team each game.
yea i think the comeback in the 4th quarter was a really good sign. of course we'd like the win, but for yao and tmac to turn it on in the fourth after shooting 20% in the first three quarters was awesome.

Hey I am going to say both this thread and DD's are right. Yes its going to take a bit for us to get to the point where we were before the injuries occurred. Yes there was a marked improvement by the end of the game. My conclusion, it may take less time than we actually thought for this team to get back in the flow "chemistry"-wise. I was upset that we lost last night, but like yall said, I expected a couple of bad games when Yao came back. Those I was thinking it would be later this month. So we are ahead of schedule already! I believe!
i did see our team work a little better together late in the game. we gave this away with our horrible play in the earlier quarters, but i think we'll be okay. the time needed to adjust to yao being back may have just been reduced looking at how we played. i think in about 5 games everyone will be okay with their roles. however, i'm thinking yao will put up 20 points against the celtics. i'd like to see yao set a little less screens for now to reduce the amount of running he does on offense, but he showed 'decent' hands and touch around the rim in the 2nd half. varejao got a few slaps and yao did lose the ball a few times, but once he gets a little more comfortable with people slapping at him all the time (like it was before his injury) he should be drawing more fouls and putting up higher percentage shots.
You can't tell much from just one game, let alone just the 4th quarter. Until they can string together a few good games, then you can say the chemistry is back.
