cato has had back to back solid outings with decent pts and awesome rebounding. right now he's leading the league in off. rebs. could the arrival of yao be a good thing for cato as he doesn't have as much pressure on him to be a success? i hope so

This is the Cato that I've wanted. He may not be a great offensive player, but he sure is playing hard, and getting a lot of boards. I am very happy with his play so far. Let's hope that he keeps it up.

Cato finally has some motivation due to Yao Mings presence on the team. This is the first time that he feels "competition" from some other player on the team. If he can keep this up, I think that his contract wont look so bad after all.

I totally agree. Most players tend to play better when they are at risk of losing their minutes to a rookie.

Cato has been playing well since about March of last year.

Yeah. He played pretty good at the end of the season, but he is playing even better this year.

It was nice to hear on his post (Denver) game interveiw giving props to Yao. Calvin was saying something about how he and Eddie were clogging up the middle and Cato said something to the extent of "just wait until Yao gets ready".

It really will be exciting if all three of those guys work out well.

So do you want us to wait 2 or 3 weeks before we post anything?

Face it Cato has been good and he deserves some praise. Maybe it will not last and if it doesn't I'm sure he will be thrown under the bus again. But until he does...Good job Cato

If he keeps it up we may be able to trade him for something of value.

Unless he is happy being a backup center the rest of his life, his days as a Rocket are numbered.

Yes, but just get a feel for what will happen during the course of the season. I know Cato has played extremely well, but we have to be real, you can't get excited over two games, you're just setting yourself up for a possible dissapointment, and Cato has a history.Good job Cato, tho. Just like you ripping Griff, two bad offensive games and he is all of a sudden a bad basketball player. GIVE me a break, and GIVE Eddie some time. You people get waaay to excited.

This is every bit the Cato that we were hoping for, and man he looks like he is in much better shape this year. On another note I still kind of miss the Wizard:( .

That's right. Cato is a great back up center. We should know that.

I think he is happy being a backup center. The guy's not a competitor like Stevie. I think he just wants to be appreciated.

Speaking of which, Good job, Cato! Keep on bringing it!

All I can say is: Who the hell is this guy?!?

What happened to the lazy, overpaid, fata$$ punk who was taking the team for granted? I hope this effort that he's putting up day-to-day will be consistent throughout the season!

Who knew it only took 3 games to make Cato one of my favorite players? ;)

All he had to do was hustle, he looks like a new man. Murphy says it over and over but it is his new attitude. He likes Ming and wants him to be a star. The post game interview they had after the Nuggets game, he said that he wants Yao to play more and succeed. I couldn't be happier with his game so far this year, I take back all my Cato hating - Go Cato!

    * the above statement is null and void if the old Kelvin Cato is ever returned from Rigel IV. :)
