Ok, so what's up with this team. Seriously. These guys had such high hopes at the beginning of the season. Now they're tied for 9th in the east/JV league playing sub-.500 ball, have attitude problems and just plain SUCK. Scott Skiles gets canned, Noah's got a issues, Gray mouths off to boylan, Ty Thomas doesn't care bout practice, Duhon skips shoot around to go to a Duke/NC game. And remember just last season the organization made a HUGE deal bout big ben wearing a headband. I bet they'd trade that headband problem for all these other bullsht problems they got now. These guys make boat loads of money and belong to a great organization/city that has badass fans, and this is how they treat them? Sad. Paxson's really losing a grip on his team. I hope whoever they hire next year to replace Boylan whips these scrubs into shape. I really like Deng and Hinrich. These guys deserve better. Maybe they could use JVG. Dude needs a real coaching job not an analyst job. As much fun as it is hearing him give us props on national tv, I could care less. I know he bleeds Rocket Red. Here's the link to the latest antic by Chris Duhon. And no, I don't think this guy would help our team so lets not see if we can sign him. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3288269
They have a bunch of young guys who act like they have already won championships. Perfect example is Tyrus Thomas
I could ramble for a while on them but the organization is out of control. Both Paxson and Boylan have to go. Hinrich has topped out as a PG and he just isn't that good. Their roster is a classic case of the individual pieces being worth a lot more than the whole. Trading Tyrus Thomas should be priority #1. I said from the beginning he wouldn't be very good in the NBA. Trading Aldridge away for Thomas will go down in Bulls history alongside the Elton Brand trade.
Attitude is contagious. Ben Wallace did not make his worth catching.. on the other hand, they beat the Jazz last night.
They really don't have that leader to rally around, or that positive locker room presence. They just have a bunch of good players that punch in then punch out their timecards.
They need a responsible and steady veteran to lead the team. Most of the team is high strung and young. Regardless they at least are trying harder after the trade. That's a good sign.
It didn't help when you got a bunch of young players in the locker room and the Kobe trade rumors were flying at the beginning of the season...
They're definitley shopping Thomas as there was talk of him being a Nug. Agreed on Hinrich. I've never been a fan of his, but when everyone was talking about how great he was, I just figured it was my anti-KU stance. I'm curious to see what Kelly thinks about the Bulls.
Hell, I thought it was a series of BAD trades! You could have the basis of a really good team with who they tossed away, beginning with Brand and Chandler. I don't remember if one deal excluded the other player from being in Chicago, but taken together, it is pretty damn rediculous. What a tandem that would have been.
a bunch of overrated players, you need stars in this league, and even though I love ben wallace's game, if he's your best player, well you just aren't that good
They should sit down and watch some Rockets' games, particularly Hayes' game and ask themselves: "Am I better than him? Had I done more than him to help the team? Am I overrated or overpaid?"
Ditto chemistry and no leadership. When Ben Wallace was their big money guy/veteran/leader by default I think it pushed everything downhill. At least in Detroit there were plenty of better players around his age to keep him in check.
#1, they are actually playing better of late. Beat the Cavs and Jazz, played Detroit close wire to wire at Detroit. They are going to make the playoffs. #2, their real problem is they have no beast. Nobody they can count on and lead the team every night. Hard to fathum why they didn't make a play for KG. They had the pieces to be this year's Boston Celts, maybe better. They sat on their hands.
For those who doubt the wisdom of the Gay trade, try to imagine Bulls' season with Battier in their locker room and on their court. For those who doubt The Streak, note the moribund Bulls v ('sexy') WCF pick Jazz last night!
Trading Chandler for pratically peanuts (PJ Brown) to make room for Ben Wallace signing was the beginning of the end for the Bulls. They overachieved under Scott Skiles (who did not deserve to be fired after what did the last couple of years BTW) and now their lack of star power is being exposed. They have a number of good players (such as Deng, Gordon, Hinrich) but they don't have an all-star caliber player. They've also got no legit post scorer (although Gooden is providing some of that now). They should really have included Deng in the package for Kobe when they had the chance.
