I find myself constantly amazed by the posts on this site. All of the blame goes to Francis. When the real problem is in the front court. Yeah. Steve shot poorly last night. But Van Gundy repeatedly pointed out that Steve did not force the game, played smart, got the ball into Yao's hands.

The problem is the absolute whiff on too many draft picks, from Griffin to Nachbar to Bryce Drew to the euro we took instead of the kid in Seattle (sorry, brain fart on name).

It almost seems impossible that we were smart enough to take Yao, when we have been stupid on so many occassions.

Eddie reminds me of Buck Johnson (another failed first rounder). Too slight of build to take the hammering inside, to slow afoot to play the small forward position effectively (and nowhere near enough shooting range).

When I watched the game last night, I could only lament EG's invisibility. TMo has the body to be an NBA 4 ... seems to me that he needs more minutes.

If I were looking for a second reason why we lost ... the lack of outside shooting is just a killer. Steve was off and that happens, but there just isn't anyone on this team that can fill the hoop consistently from the outside ... and while there are few like Kobe Bryant ... that guy shows you what a pure shooter is all about.

But go ahead and hate on Steve some more. Without him, this team would struggle to win 25 games.

because francis didn't shoot well, the lakers were collapsing on yao. plus, the rockets players didn't move; they stood around and watched yao tried to dribble around the holding of walker and madsen.

Dont get ahead of yourself now. Boki is a fine player. the rocks have messed up as of lately with Langi and collier.

I actually think it was a hard choice between Amare and Yao.

Though, the rocks needed a big man, and we have always been a big man team through out history.

Terence Morris? He got to play?!?!?!

He is a little small...but yes. He can play with the power forwards...but he has a tendency to hack.

    But his shooting if fantabulous.

    Now Griffin...the Rockets love him...Patience... :(

exaclty. Yao and Stevie, and ocassionaly Mobes, were the only players who were moving around with cuts to the hope. When ever Stevie gave Yao the ball the rest of the team stood around watching lead footed.

    I dont know....

Yao seems like the better of the two personality wise, which doesnt help a team.

I think Yao is going to be fantastic. My only worry with him, is, well for some reason in my mind I feel that he has the appearnce of a future injury prone big guy.
That is the only thing that Worries me about Yao.

Other than that.....I would rather have Yao than Amare. In the long run I forsee Yao as the better of the two.

Amare is the one that has his game together right now, cause he didnt have to go through the big change like Yao did coming here to Houston.

    Yao...Yao is the man.

I would take Yao over anyone. Finding a dominant C is the hardest thing to do and we now have that player set for hopefully 10 years.

I think Steve gives us the second leg in the triangle.

The issue is the third. Today ... it isn't Rice, it isn't Griffin, it isn't Mobley, and it isn't Taylor.

We've got to find that third piece ... personally, I would trade everyone on the team with the exception of the Yao and Steve to find that player.

I agree...my one major worry with Yao is him getting hurt or just breaking down. When you're that large it's hard for your body not to get hurt.
