What can you say? The Rockets really didn't deserve to win this series. They played hard and gave it a good effort, but in the end it was very clear to me that the better team won this series. Some thoughts... 1. Just like last season, we still need an athletic 4 and a starting point guard. I like Rafer, but he shouldn't be starting and playing as many minutes as he had to play this year. 2. I don't think JVG will be back next year. I think he did a damn fine job overall, although Sloan took him to school in the playoffs, but I have a gut feeling Jeff will be coaching elsewhere soon. 3. I feel bad for McGrady. He's got a losers reputation now that is going to be hard for him to shake. 4. Bring on Acie Law and a new year.... In the spirit of the day, Adios Rockets fans....
Agreed. Next year will be better. I know it. I believe it. Let's go and win, eh? No need to mope. Peace out everybody and don't get too worked up.
We got beaten by a better team after my 20 minutes of rage i have finally calmed down come to think of it....Utah has really played better than us the entire series doesnt matter if they used underhanded tactics....we were never able to dominate a game like we use to , ie lead from begining to end we always had to fight back, and the problem with that is if we couldnt shoot better than them then we loose...which was the case today thier FG% has been consistenly higher than us + thier rebounds has been higher than us as well thier balanced team is just that tiny bit better than our top two heavy team deep down somewhere, i realised that the better team won.....life is never easy and i hope the rockets organisation and the coachgin staff and the team can go back to the drawing boards and come back stronger next year.... we were never giong to win it all this year, as long as we win it next year all is good and dandy in houston i say cheer up guys
I am honest with myself. The Utah Jazz was a better team in the regular season until their season end losing stretch and lost HCA. I thought the HCA would help the Rockets for the outcome. But hell no! With JVG as coach, there is no much difference. Same old story as 2004-5.
I agree. The better team won, JVG will gone next year, and our glaring weakness has been shown. (Trade for Bibby guys.......)
even though this thread is going to be merged with the game threads i'm sure just wanted to give my 2 cents, i'm too depressed to get fired up about this. we lost. we lost to the better team that outhustled and outplayed us at home every game. the optomist in me said hey, we won still, **** what the jazz did in our place. never realizing the fact that maybe this isn't such a good sign that they're hanging around in our own building like they own the place. tonight , it came to fruition, and that's it. done deal. mcgrady adds another impressive mark on his illustrious resume of losses in playoff series and that's that. i'm out.

What can u say about a team with 2 all-stars (Boozer, Williams) and 2 quasi-stars (Okur, Kirilenko)? compare to our team with 2 all-stars (McGrady, Yao) and 1 quasi-defensive-star (Battier)? + ZERO bench... Lost to a better team, plain and simple
i Second that. Congratulations Utah Jazz. We may hate you, but you out-played us. you clearly wanted this more. You fought hard every game. I do not think the Rockets were hard done by. We flat-out did not deserve to win this series and no-one can say we did. Heres to rooting for the Warriors!!!! Please read my sig. It speaks the truth
agreed, the Jazz are a lot better than us, deeper, solid at all positions, better execution, more athletic, etc. the only thing they dont have is that superstar, but Boozer played like their superstar tonight and they won.
i think the only reason we all thought rockets were the better team is because utah choked away the home court in the regular season. watching this series makes you see they are MUCH deeper, and much more talented than the rockets overall, not to mention, a little more athletic.
I'm replying to the this thread because it's the most sensible one I've seen. People are understandably letting their emotions dictate the common sense a little bit. I agree. Once the series was was over, it is clear that they were the better team from top to bottom. Yao & TMac played great and both showed a lot of heart. They just didn't have enough help around them. But, despite al that, the Rockets had this series n their grasp in the 4th quarters of games 3 and 6 and just didn't make enough plays. Hey, it happens. Let's give Utah their just due and applaud the Rockets on a good season none-the-less.
this off season might be more exciting then the actual season was. an expiring head coach contract, 2 superstars on a roster with with lots of holes, and a shiny new general manager. I CANT WAIT. and congrats to utah, they truly were the better team.
Utah was definently the better team. Carlos Boozer is a stud, Okur shot better from the 3pt line than any Rocket, Deron Williams owned Rafer, Harpring is a beast and the Jazz bench was much deeper (Collins and Millsap) with real contributers. Even a troubled and confused AK would instantly be our 3d best player if he was on the Rockets team. With that said, I hope the Rockets do something to upgrade the PG and PF along with the rest of the sorry, unathletic bench and head coach.
