scola... 13pts 8rebs per game landry... 9pts 6rebs per game brooks...if hes the primary back up...7pts 3ast per game
Brooks will have the most improvement. Landry will improve some. Scola will still be the best player. DD
i don't see scola improving... he is what he is. maybe he can improve more by adjusting to the athletes in the nba. but getting better skill wise? unlikely. he can pass it out of the double team ALOT more and be more effeciant on the free throw line. Brooks still has years to go. those playoff games should help him though (Game 1 and 2) landry is the most likely to improve. he has the worst talent (basketball wise) than any of the 3. what he has going is the athleticism.even though he's short for a pf, he should improve. i heard the coaching staff is trying to make him add range so he can shoot 3s. that wouldn't be bad either. so just improve on his talent, he will improve big time.
Scola will improve just by virtue of not getting any rookie BS calls made on him anymore. The change should be drastic in this respect. Landry should be affected by this too, both of them were getting assaulted in the paint and having the fouls go against them. Landry has the potential to improve more though, if he can consistently knock down that mid-range jumper like he did when he first came up, and I remember seeing a few good post moves he was reluctant to use also. Brooks' performance will depend entirely upon how much playing time Morey and Adelman decide to bestow upon him. He needs confidence in his three and his penetration abilities, but I don't see this happening unless he is the undisputed backup. I'm still hoping for better options at this point, but if Morey puts his faith in Brooks so will I.
I think Brooks will improve, but I chose Scola. This dude had an unbelivable rookie year and we can just wonder what will happen next year
Well, we will see. I would also like to have him as our 2nd pg but you just nver know. But he also needs to make adjustments in his game.
Landry is just not a athlete, his jumper was more steady and reliable than Scola last year. It is really up in the air. Brooks need playing time and confidence and he could top off as a poor mans Tony Parker or a Earl Boykins in his prime. All the rookies were really good it just depends on the work ethic.
Scola is already what we need from the PF position. If he improves that's just an added bonus. With that being said, I sure hope Landry or Brooks ends up being better than Scola. We need all the talent we can get.
Well looking at how Ginobli improved from his rookie year... I could definitely see Scola improving also. Brooks is a point in the NBA so he can only improve from his rookie year looking at his talent. Landry will be more of a beast plain and simple.
aaron brooks has basically shown nothing so far besides being quick. he better improves a lot or he'll be out of the nba pretty quick. landry was sensational during our streak when nobody knew him. i doubt he'll get on a role like this again. teams figured him out and he won't surprise anyone anymore. he can still be a valuable player with his athleticism and hustle but his knees and his lack of size bother me. because of this i doubt he can really improve at what he's doing right now. so in order to really improve he has to add other things to his game. like better defense, a more consistent jumper and 1 or 2 post moves. scola probably won't improve too much individually but his output team wise will get a lot better. he'll play more, get fewer bogus calls and he'll be more adjusted to the less physical but more athletic play around the basket.
heres my best bet. scola and landry will stay the same just increase their numbers a bit. and brooks will be the only one improving
All will improve but Scola will be a difference maker for us next year. Oh man, I can't wait to see him right next to Yao with a year of NBA experience under his belt. Our 3 rookies have me excited for next year. If only Stevie can come back healthy and we can get a 3rd scoring option... *drool*
What I am hoping for next year. Scola has more confidence and knocks his mid range jumper at a better rate. Landry starting to show signs of becoming David West light , I think he has enough ball handling skills and he got the mid range game , also stays healthy the whole year. Brooks improves his passiong but most of all shoots 38% or better from 3.
I don't see Scola improving much more but I agree with you on Landry he's gonna be a beasty in the next couple years as long as he stays healthy. BTW you probably already know but Ginobili was very athletic when he entered the league thus his improvement from year to year as he learned the game.
Landry has the best work ethic out of the three, so he'll be the best sophomore. Remember that starting from training camp, Carl was able to add significant inches to his vertical leap, get stronger, and improve his jumpshot. And he did this as an "old" rookie, 23 years old. Now, Landry is working on his creating his own shot and adding three point range. I'm not exaggerating when I say that Landry can be a future all-star.
Scola shot 67% from the line last year. Thats where I want to see the most improvement. I don't think his numbers will change much with Yao coming back. But his efficiency around the basket and on his jumper should see steady improvement. In the playoffs he almost abandonded his jumper completely he had lost so much faith in it. Landry has the most to gain from Yao's return because he makes excellent cuts to the basket when defenders cheat. But I still voted for Scola because I worry about Landry's longevity, while Scola is the model of consistency. Is anyone else worried about him working on his 3? Theres nothing good about a big man who falls in love with his shot when they should really be banging down low. The jury is out on Brooks. I think he falls under the most likely to be traded category...
