I just saw Skillet perform live. I guess I am too old, cause I knew nothing about this band and they were awesome. I especially liked the chick guitarest. Man is she cool.
The Flaming Lips...never even listened to their music until I saw them at ACL last year. They put on the best live concert I have ever seen. Boston...saw them at Woodlands a couple years back and they were unbelievable.
I've been to two real concerts in my life time. This is how I have them ranked. 1) High School Musical: The Tour 2) The Emancipation of Mimi Tour, Mariah Carey coulda been The Police in there.
I average about one concert a week. One of the better shows I've seen this year have been The Rosebuds at SXSW. Also Yo! Majesty was pretty good at the festival. Voxtrot last night was the best I've seen them yet.
I REALLY enjoyed Silversun Pickups with OK Go a few months back. I left before Snow Patrol, and I'm sure my eardrums thanked me in advance.
the Linkin Park concert....a few years ago. I'm really excited about going to the Johnny Winter concert in October!!!!!
Please tell me Voxtrot wasn't in Houston! The Dillinger Escape Plan is my far the best band I've seen recently or ever.
I attended my first concert whilst @ WWDC earlier this month. The band called Ozomatli played and it was a great experience.
They played at Proletariat with Tacks the Boy Disaster last night in Houston. They started real late like at 1AM. It was the last night of their 5 week international tour. I really thought it was their best show yet, since they played all of their faster, upbeat songs since their wasn't much time.(Venue closes at 2AM). They played all their hit songs, which was amazing. Normally they play at Walter's, but for some reason they chose this smaller venue. When I initially got there, tickets were sold out, but the guy at the front told me to hang around and said he would let me in if people left the show early. After waiting about 20-30 minutes, I went back in and they let me in the show since some people had left after seeing some of the earlier local acts. The show wasn't advertised on Super Unison, but I read about it on the Hand Stamp blog. This is the fourth time I've seen them in the past 6 months. They were here just two months ago, playing a free show at Urban Outfitters in the Rice Village.
i learned that it was pronounced: ma NAH. dont pronounce it any other way, or people will want to beat you up.
Wasn't really the best.. but I went to a free Fergie concert sponsored by Verizon. Needless to say it was nothing but little spoiled skimpy brats! But Fergie looked kinda hot (face exception).
I saw Kimberly Locke sing to tracks this weekend, and it was a train wreck. I can't believe a real singer would do that. It is so stupid and i was actually looking forward to her singing. I was waiting for her to just go freestyle on the stage to try to hype the crowd up, who weren't even paying any attention to her. But no, she just kept on with that stupid set.
