U2. This is just amazing. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/vcPs20r1xRA"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/vcPs20r1xRA" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Best Female Live Artist : Kelly Clarkson Best Male Live Artist: John Mayer Best Live Band: Hmm... probably Green Day or Red Hot Chili Peppers
U2 is pretty good, I like concerts where they actually have a great and clear voice rather than them getting all tired and sweaty from doing presentation crap and sounding like a screeching cat.
Iron Maiden, without a doubt. They've been doing it for going on 30 years and still nobody puts on a better show.
Best live show I've ever seen: Paul McCartney Best live shows I've ever seen after that: Black Crowes (1992), U2 (1987), Prince (2000) I don't know if any of them were the best ever. I think that's a pretty subjective discussion anyway.
I've not seen a ton of concerts in my life, but Steve Miller Band puts on a hell of a show (I've seen them thrice).
Prince, Ben Folds, Flaming Lips & Guns N Roses all put on great stage shows. Pixies are technically perfect live. Living Colour still put on the best show I ever saw.
Van Halen with David Lee Roth was amazing back in the day. and my favorite show of all time is when I saw Edie Brickell at "The Basement" in Austin about 2 months before they got famous.....it was totally cool, there were only about 100 people there and we were ROCKIN to the New Bohemian beat ! DD
the times I have seen Korn live they have always put on a great live show as well as making it a full on presentation of some sorts doing something pretty cool outside of the music. though i have not seen them since Head left the band
Flaming Lips does put on a show like nothing else I have ever seen. So much confetti and so many balloons, not to mention lasers. Personally the best concerts I ever saw were Janes Addiction at Numbers in 1989, followed by Pink Floyd at the Dome, the Black Crowes at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, the Grateful Dead at Shoreline Ampitheater in SF, Live at the Woodlands (I was shocked how good they were), Flaming Lips at the Hammerstein in NYC, and Metallica/The Cult at the Summit.
U2 is pure cheese imo. That video made me cringe. Let's keep it real. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/SH04vmBoMiM"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/SH04vmBoMiM" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
