I have been an avid fan of the Houston Rockets since I can remember. I am only 22 years of age, and the first thing that I can remember was being in the third grade in 1993 and one of my teachers showed me the Houston Chronicle and explained to me that the Houston Rockets had started the season 9-0 (I think we went on to win 15 in a row before getting blown out by the Heat by like 15 or 20 when the shot like 70% from the field). From then on I was hooked and could not put the sports page section down. Just like many of you, I come to this website on my spare time to see what the news scoops are. Some times I stop by 2 or three times a day and others maybe 30 or 40. The Rockets have become hands down my favorite team of any sport to follow and I will follow them until the day that I die. Some one started a thread a few days ago about the most memorable moments in Rockets history, and I thought I would start a thread on the best Rockets games that I have witnessed.

Top Games of my life time:

    #5 12/29/94 Houston 126 Warriors 124

Tim Hardaway was killing us the whole game just hitting clutch shot after clutch shot. In OT we were down by 1 with 3 or 4 seconds left and we tried to inbound the ball to Hakeem down low, the ball hit off the backboard and flew down the baseline. Vernon Maxwell grabbed the loose ball and hit a fade away three pointer falling out of bounce near the Warriors bench at the buzzer and drained it! Maxwell might have had a temper but in the mid 90’s I would put him up there on the list with MJ and Reggie Miller as the shooters that you want on your team with no time left and you need a bucket.

    #4 12/9/04 Houston 81 Spurs 80

Rockets down by double digits with a minute left and superman (Tracy McGrady) scores 13 points in 33 seconds including a four point play. The best come from behind victory that I have every witnessed.

#3 5/95 Game 7 against the Phoenix Suns

After Barkley announced the “kiss of death” , Mario Ellie made it his phrase as he hit a three pointer from the baseline that allowed the Houston Rockets to comeback from losing their first two games at home in the series and defeat the Suns to move on the WCF.

#2 6/95 Game 1 against the Magic in the Finals

Down by as much as 20 points in the first half the Rockets rallied behind Kenny Smiths excellent three point shooting and Hakeem’s tip late in the game. (Nick the Brick Anderson missed 4 straight freethors that would have given game one to the Magic) The victory lead to a sweep of the Magic and back to back championships for clutch city.

#1 6/94 Game 7 against the Knicks in the Finals

A close game the whole way, the Rockets won their first NBA championship with great clutch shooting form Robert Horry and Sam Cassell. The beginning of Clutch City!!!

Great list, I never thought that the 13 in 33 got the respect it deserved nationally for some reason...

we actually lost to the atlanta hawks by like 22, i believe we even scored 111 points that night, it was a back to back after we just upset the knicks on their home floor. We went on the win 7 more to start 22-1 before we lost to denver at home...
i will never forget that start

Not to split hairs but it was 13 in 35 not 33, or 38 like I have seen here and on youtube.
