Whenever I feel down and in the dumps, there's nothing more uplifting than reading Edgar Allen Poe.

I went to see an actor play Poe in Philidelphia a couple of years ago. It was done as if he were on a speaking tour, and was excellent. I read Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin series when I'm down. Always picks me up, and there are 18 novels. :)

Why you read if you can listen the Alan Parsons Project album based on him and his work: "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" ;)

Or the album that Eric Woolfson made years ago on the same concept.

I eat. Then I eat some more. And a little bit more for good measure.

    I agree

The best way I have dealt with depression is to get busy on something.

Clean house. Call and speak to a friend. If you have money in the bank, count it. It usually makes me feel good, unless I have very little in there.

    Like now :(

    Time to get busy. :)

Come to think of it, you may just want to seek professional help.
