So recently I watched the last hour of LOTR2, Matrix and Predator all in a row, and realized that I had been missing some good action movies in my tv watching diet. Incidentally, all 3 of those would be on my top 10 - 20 list of action movies of the last two decades. What makes your list?
Terminator 2 - Liqued metal terminator broke ground with the use of CGI effects. Matrix - Simply filled with jaw droping special effects. Probably the best action movie of all time. Aliens - The first Alien was a horror movie, but this one was all action. Lots of aliens, gore, and gunfights. Saving Private Ryan - Most action packed and realistic war scenes ever. Die Hard - Yippee-ki-yay, mother****er!
T2 Matrix: Reloaded (highway chase scene is best action sequence ever) True Lies (greatest blend of action and comedy i've ever seen) LOTR3 Saving Private Ryan (i wouldn't have thought of this but definitely a good choice)
Hard Boiled might be the finest action movie I've ever seen. At least as far as gunplay is concerned. The James Bond series also deserves mention. I never get tired of watching the train fight in From Russia With Love or the final 40 minutes of On Her Majesty's Secret Service. And for fight sequences, nothing tops Drunken Master II. I still can't believe Jackie Chan was 40 when he did this movie.
i freaking loved fist of legend. imo... best war movie: band of brothers (not really a movie but still great) best kung fu flick: fist of legend best superhero flick: batman begins best general action: um i dunno.. theres alot. i would probably go with diehard or indiana jones. cant beat the classics.
Somebody's been watching Films of Fury on SpikeTV! I watched Fist of Legend and Twin Warriors, and enjoyed them both. Best action film? Aliens immediately comes to mind.
Continued to get my fix on last night. Black Hawk Down was on FX...which made it annoying with commercials, but I had never seen it before. Very solid movie. Had never heard of Hard Boiled. Will have to check it out. Hard Boiled: A tough as nails cop teams up with an undercover agent to shut down a sinister mobster and his crew.
The original Terminator- Its raw, mean and Arnold just looks nasty in that movie! First Blood The Rock/Con Air- comical action at its best. I'm surprise these movie has not gotten any praise. The Matrix Point Blank Fast and the Furious
