I'm no beginner. I got skills, just ask the neighbors... But this is some good reading and actually pretty interesting for us yanks. http://sports.yahoo.com/fantasy/blo...o-watching-World-Cup-socce?urn=fantasy,251409
50% Funny and 50% Annoying...... They did make a good point with the Kobe/Adrian Peterson/Lebron/Urlacher thing though. Imagine the soccer team we would be running out there if soccer was the number 1 sport in terms of popularity here.
Flopping and fake injuries aside, the sportsmanship is some of the best in any sports. For example, when a player goes down, any team that has the ball kicks it out of play so he can be attended to. The other team, knowing the only reason they intentionally kicked the ball out of bounds was to help an injured player, will give the ball back to the team that kicked it out...even if there are only a few minutes left and they're down a goal. Imagine seeing something like this in basketball. Instead of having to intentionally waste a team foul to stop play, the opposing team just steps out of bounds. They will essentially get the ball right back after the other team commits a 5 second in-bound penalty. Is it really fair to have to play 5 on 4 due to an injury?
I've seen players wear an opposing team's jersey after a match when opposing players switch jerseys. That's disgusting.
pretty sure thats more out of respect. what you mean wear though never seen a player put the other teams jersey on.
