That is absolutely pathetic that ALL of the teams in that division are below .500 Its gonna be a shame when one of those garbage teams wins the division with less than 45 wins.
Sixers always win the second half of the season. Nets will contend for Eastern conference as soon as Kidd recovers from injury. But yeah the rest of the teams are pretty bad.
It is amazing isn't it? That's what is going to happen next year in the Southeast Division as well. Next year in that division what is going to happen is the team that wins that division will probably be around 41-41 and still get a #3 seed while the #4 seed will have some record like 48 wins. It will be ridiculous. Getting back to the present....The other day I think I counted 4 teams above 500 in the East and 11 teams above 500 in the West. I think every Western team would make the playoffs in the east with their current records. I don't think the divide between east and west has ever been this great. What a joke!
The east is very weak, there is not one team over there that the Rox can't beat. The nets and pacers are the only good teams.
The Hornets are good, but since they're going to be in the West next year, we can count them as a Western Conference team.
East period is just sad, look at the west the worst record is the Clips with 4-6 record which ant to bad 4 the over all worst record, now look at the magic 1-12 thatz CRAZY or even the Heat, thats just sad.. & with the Hornets coming to the west next season it dosnt really help the east i wouldnt think?
I thought of starting a thread on this 'division' - pretty sad (funny actually) when your team is 5 - 12 and only 3.5 out of first.
I was looking at the standings again today. And once again it is ridiculous! EVERY team in the Midwest Division is ABOVE 500! That means the worst team in the division (Spurs!?!?!?) would be the division LEADER in the Atlantic which is the 76ers at 9-9! Only ONE team in that division is above 500, and just barely? Just ridiculous! Right now the East has ONLY 3 solid teams, Pistons, Pacers, Hornets and the Hornets are only on LOAN to the east this year.
The tide might be turning in a couple of years. The East has some great players...Lebron, McGrady, Iverson, Kidd, Baron Davis, Vince Carter. The problem is that the only decent big man that has a complete game is Jermain O'Neal. Chandler and Curry have a lot of potential, but they're still a couple of years away from being great players. Brown has shown flashes of good play, but he's looking more and more like a bust every day. Big men take longer to develop their games than guards. An East team should get the #1 pick this year, but I haven't really seen any big men stand out yet...
Good call. LeBron, McGrady, O'Neal, Iverson, Davis and Carter are all relatively young. Their best years are in front of them. The East will definitely get better (in time), but it's just nasty right now.
Your forgetting the Pistons who will be in the NBA Finals ( I can't believe you mentioned the Nets and Pacers before us). IN either case, didn't we blow Houston the &*^C out 3 of the last 4 meetings? (you all got lucky that one game) Good luck this coming Thursday. Hopefully you will still be above .500 then y'all still couldn't even make the playoffs with all that talent FWG
