Every year we have the same thread around this time: It's time for James Harden to finally dominate in the playoffs. Not that he his averages have slipped, or that he hasn't had some spectacular playoff games. But when will he have a playoff run that matches his regular-season dominance? Despite an epic run this year that demonstrated he's among the best basketball players of all time, Harden still has doubters. MANY of them, in fact. The few games where he did actually play poorly are the ones that always seem to be brought up as evidence that "Playoff Harden" is a subpar copy of this regular season self. It's partly his own fault for letting the tougher playoff reffing get into his head at times, but every year it seems like we're on the verge of him finally busting out in the post-season on a scale that nobody can As Rockets fans, we all want the chip. But we also want Harden to show beyond a doubt that he's capable of getting us there. I have to believe this is the year it happens. After the All-Star break, the Rox led the NBA in wins, winning%, and +/-. We were 2nd in offensive rating, 2nd in defensive rating, and 1st in net rating. We were 3rd in true shooting % and 4th in effective FG%. Harden has willed us to wins all season long. His new diet and exercise habits seem to have given him the necessary endurance to withstand the demands of the second season. And he nearly single-handedly decapitated the Warriors on their home court in a nationally televised game. I could be wrong, but I have a feeling... Finally, it's time.
I’ve been excited and anxious for the last few days waiting for game one. I’m excited for Harden to play like the all-time great that he is, for CP3 to dominate all his match-ups, for EGo to splash 3s in everyone’s face and for Clint to continue his playoff excellence. This Rockets team can win it all...they’re deep, experienced, and even hungrier than last year. I’m looking forward to an amazing postseason run!
We will finally witness James Harden’s final form as he destroys the competition and realizes his ultimate destiny by dethroning the mighty warriors on his way to becoming a champion and finals mvp. This is the year we’ve been so patiently waiting for. It’s time!
