If I were either Bush or Gore, I don't think I would want to win this one. The election shenanigans on both sides, the rancor, the controversy, etc. etc. ad nauseum. Whichever man that finally wins this thing is going to have a helluva hard time getting anything accomplished over the next 4 years. Plus, whichever party that loses this presidential election is going to win in a major landslide 4 years from now! ------------------ I am the b*stard son of LHutz. Huh? Right!
I agree. Like you said no matter if Bush or Gore win, neither guy will find it easy to achieve his goals. If Bush wins, I think the Dems in Congress wont back down easy since he didnt win the Popular vote. And if Gore wins, I think the Reps in COngress wont back down since the election was first called for Bush, then seemed to be taken away. Gonna be an ugly four years, I think. The BEST thing that happened was when Jeb Bush took himself out of the equation. That was smart of him. He had to remove himself from being tainted with this. ------------------ "Her Box Started Buzzing Ever Since She Heard The CRÜE"
I agree with you. I was impressed watching Jeb on CSPAN last night explaining what was going on and how the state of Florida was following the rules of the Constitution and their own election laws. Frankly, I believe that if Jeb Bush would have run this year, he would have beaten Gore pretty easily. He seems to have his sheeeeeit together a whole lot more than his brother Dubya! ------------------ I am the b*stard son of LHutz. Huh? Right!
I disagree. Sure, people on either side may be upset at the result, but this is the most powerful country in the world. While some may continue to be petty for longer, but most in Congress and the White House will realize that things need to be done so that we can continue to be the most powerful country in the world. Plus, about 467 people will have to answer to the people in 2 years if they don't do anything. I think things will be fine either way. ------------------ "He was under more balls than a midget hooker."-Bobby Hill visit www.swirve.com
You could be right, but the congress will typically rally around the president during the honeymoon. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
Whoever wins the championship is going to have an asterisk next to their name in the history books, since Jordan wasn't running.... Wait, what were we talking about again? ------------------ RealGM Rockets Draft Obligations Summary http://www.gaffordstudios.cjb.net/ [This message has been edited by JuanValdez (edited November 09, 2000).]
Hehe you beat me to it Juan!! ------------------ its all good and fun till someone gets hurt ... then its absolutely hilarious!
LOL! The way this election is going, no matter who wins, we should call him "President ****" ------------------ I am the b*stard son of LHutz. Huh? Right!
I can't wait to see Saturday Night live. They are going to rip everything. I hope they make it funny. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
Whoever gets it will have get an asterisk by his name. ------------------ Hey, I've got a new signature! 302
This would be one of the reasons I would want Bush elected. The talk shows and SNL would have a field day with him. ------------------ "I know how hard it is to put food on your family." George W. Bush
Here a a few articles about the joke our election has become. The more the two parties b**** the more tainted the President will become here and abroad. http://www.record-mail.co.uk/shtml/NEWS/P4S3.shtml http://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/0,,32986,00.html http://asia.dailynews.yahoo.com/headlines/world/article.html?s=asia/headlines/001110/world/afp/US_officials_bristle_at__Banana_Republic__ridicule_abroad_over_election.html There are so many countries that WANT to be like us, yet we are becoming the laughingstock in this. The idea of re-count was great! But now Gore wants ballots HAND COUNTED. Will we keep counting until he gets a vote he wants? ------------------ "Her Box Started Buzzing Ever Since She Heard The CRÜE"
Here is another one I came across. From the UK. Single guys might want to bookmark this site... http://www.thesun.co.uk/news/13150150 Whether you like it or not, for Gore or Bush, this is HOW others are viewing or two possible leaders. It aint pretty. [This message has been edited by DUDE (edited November 09, 2000).]
I think I'd rather have Clinton for four more years than either one of these guys after the way they are behaving right now. At least I'd know what to expect from that horny, lying, b*stard. ------------------ The truth is out there.
Ha ha ha, DUDE. I liked your link to The Sun. The headline of "Gore Begins to Fight Dirty" is in close proximity to "Spice Girls' Hotel Trashed" and if you look further down the front page, you can read such interesting stories as "Pet Dog Rips Mum's Throat." Excellent source of journalistic integrity. ------------------ Brought to you by the letter M.
With congress spread across such a wide spectrum, I doubt it will make any difference who wins the presidency under what conditions, with regards to congress. I do remember a lot of similar attitudes and emotions in the 1988 election, in a similar situation. At that time, people made the prediction that whoever won would be a one term president. I bet we can make the same prediction here. ------------------ Stay Cool...
