I've said it many times, his domestic policies don't necessarily affect me. I'm really curious if he is going to act on tarrifs, that's a big one for me, because I personally don't see how the cost would not be passed down to the consumer, but hell, I'll get to find out shortly soon. Education wise, I live in Texas, Abbott has been pushing hard for vouchers. Once again, I don't really see how that helps the lower class, but hell, if republicans want to give me some money to send my kid to wherever the hell I feel like, I'll take it then. Social issues, those are important to me, which is why I still side with democrats. Am I "woke"? Not really, I'm not that passionate about it either. However (I know I sound like a broken record at this point), SCOTUS shift will hurt for decades to come possibly. I worry about my daughter and the world she will grow up in, but I'll be here to educate her and stuff and just be realistic about whatever our current situation is.

I think it's the same story as most elections. It's up to Democrats to inspire turnout. The status quo mid turnout will be Republicans every single time. Kamala did not juice turnout (for debatable reasons), so here we are.

I was an Executive Chef before I got into the administrative part of the business. I can draw an equivalent to what you are saying. I have no animosity against Vegans or vegetarians or trans identifiers. But....... When you have to stop carving prime rib for 230 people at a wedding reception, to get that vegan plate all set well it makes you uncomfortable. We over correct to those with the loudest voices. And it seems like the people always in our face about it are the "Woke" folks. I accept everyone's right to identify as they please, but don't stick dudes in women's sports. Don't tell me I have to fall in line with hiring someone based on their sexual orientation, race, or whatever protected class they belong to. I want the best person for the job. If it's a lesbian who identifies as a Cowboys fan and has 27 cats, I don't give a you know what. Show up for WORK. Do the best that you can and go to your cat lovers' group after work. A win win. I wrote all of that because most Americans HATE being told what to do. Ask the black voters that turned their middle finger up to Obama's cry for the black man to vote for Harris.
