As promised to his team, and specifically Uncle Mutombo, Yao Ming showed up in the 2008 Houston Rockets Tux and Tennies Charity Gala, the donation/auction proceeds of which will all go to the Deke Mutombo Foundation. Yao Ming played host to a table, and celebirties/fans will need to pay US$ 1,000 each to be sitting in the table with him, and US$ 500 each to take a photo with him..... So just Big Yao alone, not counting his autographed jerseys, posters, shoes that were put onto auction, he could be garnering tens of thousands for Uncle Mutombo's Foundation just for taking photos with the guests.
the radio said there was a lot of eye candy there. maybe there could have been some sugar mommy for me. if i had the money, id sit with either Shane, Aaron Brooks or Carl Landry. Just because Shane is a cool mofo, and Aaron Brooks and Carl Landry are young dudes straight from college.
Yeah, I think Landry and AB would be a cool table. Throw in Novak to make some Deke impressions, Battier to teach me a few things about migrating patterns of the Norwegian cockatoo, and Deke just so I can shake his hand. Man, that'd be awesome.
