Draft Order: Lottery Picks 1: Grizzlies : Eddie Griffin 2: Hornets 3: Suns 4: Celtics 5: Sonics 6: Magic 7: Nuggets 8: Jazz 9: Heat 10: Cavs 11: Heat 12: Jazz 13: Sixers And... With the first overall selection in the 2001 Rookie Draft, the Vancouver Grizzlies are proud and honored to select Eddie Griffin of the Seton Hall Pirates. Disclaimer: This thread was created based on consensus of the "chat room guys". The draft does not start until 2pm Wednesday, but if you cannot make it, or your team is not in the playoffs and you are bored, feel free to make your picks. Basically, it was all Heath's idea. ------------------ The next time I have meat and mashed potatoes, I think I'll put a very large blob of potatoes on my plate with just a little piece of meat. And if someone asks me why i didn't get more meat, ill just say, "Oh, you mean this?" and pull out a big piece of meat from inside the blob of potatoes, where ive hidden it. Good magic trick, huh? The rookie draft will be held Live, Wedensday at 2pm BBS time - before the real deal and no-one need to pick anybody until we meet in the chat and makes the picks at the BBS. People that cant make it can make it has to send their list to Cat, or have someone to pick for them (clear it with Cat so he knows) because Cat will not pick for anyone. So if not arrangements are done you risk to lose the pick!!! Well I can not take the credit. But I guess I will have too. But the fact was that Nomar didn't know when the draft was so when he was told he found out he couldn't be there, and when he was told that he had to submit his list - yeah long list - to Cat or lose his pick he said: "As I have the first pick, why can't I just make it now?". And so he did. ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage [This message has been edited by Heath2000 (edited June 23, 2001).]
Also if you know who you're going to pick, we were thinking it might make the draft on wednesday go faster if we went through the obvious picks before wednesday. We all know who the top 3 are going to be, letting them make the "no-brainer" picks now will make the draft on wednesday move a little bit faster, especially if we managed to go through more than just the first 3 picks. It's just an idea to make sure the rookie draft on wednesday doesn't become a 2 day affair... Don't feel any pressure to make a pick now though, if you still don't know who you want, you can take all of the time you want until wednesday... ------------------ This post contains no smilies, you must judge my seriousness on your own... Draft Order: Lottery Picks 1: Grizzlies : Eddie Griffin 2: Hornets : Kwame Brown 3: Suns 4: Celtics 5: Sonics 6: Magic 7: Nuggets 8: Jazz 9: Heat 10: Cavs 11: Heat 12: Jazz 13: Sixers And... With the second overall selection in the 2001 Rookie Draft, the Charlotte Hornets are proud and honored to make Kwame Brown of Glynn Academy, the highest drafted high-schooler in NBA History.
EVERYONE READ I will talk to some of the people in the chat shortly about this. However, I would like picking to STOP until Wednesday at 2:00. The most fun part of fantasy leagues to me are the live drafts. You can trade with everyone there, talk to whoever you want, do things spontaneously, etc. In short, live drafts are awesome, and to do it on real draft day imho would be even better. I do not want to spoil everything by doing it here before Wednesday, so please stop with the picks until then. If you are unable to attend the draft, please prerank your players and send them to me at SlamDuncan2121@yahoo.com, and I will pick for you based on that list. The draft on Wednesday shouldn't take that long, and I would definitely prefer that we don't do this. After all, the most entertaining part can be everybody rushing in with last minute trade offers for those high picks... don't ruin it. Stop the picking. ------------------ The Mo Taylor Fan Site "Basketball players win basketball games. Athletes win track meets."-- Shane Battier Draftsource.net-- the premier source for draft info. In addition, neither Nomar or SF3's picks are official yet. You can still make offers for those picks right up until 2:00 Wednesday in the chat, when Nomar is due up to pick. ------------------ The Mo Taylor Fan Site "Basketball players win basketball games.
