New York has to be desperate right now. Both the Pacers and Celtics have improved themselves, and NY is short (no pun intended) on front court players. Will we be able to trade Walt and Willis for NY's unprotected #1 by midnight so we can package picks again in the coming draft?

    um,

why would ny give up their lottery pick (and it will be a lottery pick, since they really do suck) for an aging kevin willis and walt williams?

IMO, the best thing new york could do is package up latrell sprewell and one of the many power forwards they have and trade them for a legitimate big man. how bout dikembe mutombo?

sprewell could team with AI & kurt could man the middle for philly.

with ny's pick, i'd go for the scoring machine out of memphis u. - dajuan wagner. that would be a good start for new york. problem is, they have some holes still left:

    PG: ??
    SG: wagner
    SF: houston
    PF: take your pick...
    C: mutombo.

if they could find a way to get rid of houston and his ridiculous contract, that would be great. problem is, i don't see anyone being silly enough to do it...but who knows? maybe portland would look at moving stoudamire and bonzi for houston? then new york would have...

    PG: stoudamire
    SG: wagner
SF: bonzi (plays like a sf anyway w/all the posting up he does)
    PF: take your pick...
    C: mutombo

that team could compete in the east....

the knicks want to throw in Ward and his ludicrous contract with any dea, unless it involoves Houston because those two contracts combined would even make Cuban pinching his wallet...Sprewell and Ward and the #1 for Mobley and MoTaylor..

Wasnt Scott Layden the former of GM of the Jazz? Why did NY hire him to begin with? Its not like he had a good resume with the Jazz. Yeah the Jazz were always good, but he never really improved them through trades or free agency.
