So for the time being, we have the first overall pick. What choice do you make?

I trade down to pick 5-8 range and grab a few extra 2nd and 3rd rounders.

I thought Jax having the weaker SOS would translate to them getting the 1st overall pick?

From what I see when it comes to overall league standings, the SOS supercedes head-to-head records:

You are correct when it comes to all other situations (playoff eligibility, home field advantage, etc.)

premature thread because we have no clue where cleveland is going to draft.

if they have a top 7 pick + indy's.. I am down to make a trade.

but, the most important thing is we don't do something crazy and win a game.

we are in too deep to try to start winning now.

Trade down pick up DT Nix to protect JJ and a QB 2nd round.

Well ain't that special. Of the 5 games we have left, three of them are divisional, and are completely winnable. We will get annihilated by NE and DEN, for sure, but we have to lose two games out of the JAX, IND, TEN trio that will be coming up. And I'm not sure we can do that. I feel like this team is going to muck it up and win at least two games before the season's end.

    1) Trade down
    2) Draft Derek Carr
    3) Observe riots in the streets

If Cleveland or any other team is willing to give us the RG3 package of picks for #1/2, then we better be 500% certain said QB is not franchise-player worthy.

My personal philosophy on the draft if we get #1(or perhaps even #2)

    1. Draft a franchise QB if there is one. Doesn't have to be the next Aaron Rodgers. The next Micheal Vick or Phillip Rivers is good enough for me.

    2. If the above is not possible, and Clowney looks to be the next Peppers/Suggs, take him.

    3. Trade down and take Manziel/Carr or someone in the 2nd/3rd round.

I just dont see value in OL other than LT, where we are set, in the top 10. I am dreaming of a trade down high enough to snatch Barr and another pick or two in the 2nd or 3rd. Draft Boyd to be groomed a year behind Keenum with our2nd rounder and then C. Richardson out of Baylor with the other 2nd. He sounds like a guy that can be a premier OG or RT. If we could nab J. Gilbert as well to push McCain out of the lineup altogether that'd be great. The remaining picks would be for depth at ILB anx a RB prospect.
