That was the ugliest Rockets game I have ever seen.

Luckily, they won. That was such a poor performance, it seems almost illegal that any team could come away with a win after that. Thankfully, the Rockets did. I hope they were just resting for tomorrow's game. They simply HAVE to beat Denver if they are to have any hope of surviving this month above .500.

You are never happy, are you? Now even a win is not enough for you. Loser.

Just trying to bring a little normalcy to the board.

BTW, ZRB, compare your post to this one:

That was KALIKULA's way of saying it was an ugly game. Now tell me who sounds like a true blue fan?

It's amazing that there are Rocket fans who think we're going to get slaughtered on the road. Guess what? The Rockets might ACTUALLY be a good team! Maybe they'll actually WIN most of those games! The Clippers and Kings games are winnable and Portland is playing like crap. I guarantee we'll be over .500! One VERY good sign, Rice shot has been coming back late. The other night he had 10 points and shot 45% from the field. Tonight he had 14 points and shot 50% from the field.

Well, they better not play like they did tonight. It's good to see, however, that despite them playing a poor game, they were able to win. The Rockets would have lost this game last year. The Rockets are 5-1 and haven't even come close to playing their best ball yet.

True, true, but Rudy still hasn't got used to the new defense being played. Its just the beginning and against offensive capable team we're about to see, we have to play better, period.

It was an ugly win, but I'm sure a lot of teams playing Phily will look like this with mutombo in the middle. He forces a lot of teams to try to shoot over him and unless they are hitting its going to get ugly. We missed a lot of shots just because our guys kept anticipating mutombo...we should have made like 5 or 6 more layups if not for the fear of DM(see kevin willis). Hell, this is philly's trademark...good defense, thank god iverson was hurt or we probably would have lost by 10-15.

Silly me. I always thought the object of the game was to score more points than the other team. So the pre-requisite is to play beautiful basketball, not outscore the opponent.

Geez people, a win is a win. Larry Brown is a great coach who will always have his teams ready to play. He designed a defense to slow down our backcourt, and it worked. Next game someone is gonna b**** about not winning by over 20 points.

Look at the Knicks. Every win for them is UGLY! A win is a WIN. We need all the cheap wins we can get, the schedule is toughing up.

I think the Rockets are going to play more ugly games than this one. But I also think they're gonig to win more than they lose. They don't have a great deal of rhythm, and they don't have a guy in the front court to keep the defense honest against Francis and Mobley... but HOLY JEEZ they've got some quick players that can score.

Francis, Mobley, Rice... even KT... all these guys can take their guys one-on-one for the score. They're going to play a lot of one-on-one... but then, the Rockets have been doing that for more than a decade. Rudy prefers to rely on the players, rather than the system, I think... and it'll work with the personell we have.

Win ugly, or lose while looking good.... that's a question that's been asked for years... best signified by that classic movie, "White Men Can't Jump". The philosophy in that film is relevant even today. ;)
