This has been a heck of a ride. Down in the dumps at Xmas, hoping and praying for a miracle for my team. It happened! 22 in a row! Yao out! Team ruled out by the experts. But you guys hung together and came back, way back, at one time leading the conference. Landry down after contributing large. Rafer down. Better season record than the Jazz. But maybe too many of our cannons down.

Playoff basketball as called by the refs - I'm thinkin' septic tank. Don't like it at all.

But we are not getting blown out, you guys are still fighting.

Thank you Tmac and all for a season to be remembered. Yao hope you are healthy for the Olympics and bring great honor to China, come back strong in the fall. I am looking forward to season 2 under RA.

Our hopes and our prayers are with you tonight. Agree or disagree, we all feel the passion of the fans on this board for this team. We all bleed Rockets Red!

Now maybe before the game, you guys can challenge Deron Williams and the Jazz to the Kobe/Kenny Smith jump over the car contest. Let the Jazz go first. :D

Yes, this has been a goofy season.

Dear lord, please let Yao and Tmac stay healthy from now onward.

    Thanks,

Nope, not too soon. Rockets are playing 3.5 (Scrubola counts for half and Hayes / Mutumbo count for zero) on 9 (three NBA refs) so the series is over.

Thanks for the thread, man. Major props to the Rockets for an incredible season. I have never had as many emotions as I have had this year. Hopefully we can get a third scorer (Mike Miller would be perfect here with his buddy Tmac, he will have open threes for days) and/or a new point guard. No matter what happens in the offseason, next season will no doubt be an entertaining season( If there are no injuries). Yes, I know the series is only on its third game, but looking back on the season makes me happy ( and sad) all over again.

    Pessimistic much?

There are two more games. I'm not going to call the season over until the buzzer sounds on the last game.

Man, please have respect to the elder. Deke is 50 year old. You cant count a 50 year old that's still running on the court as 0. At least say it's .25.

Scola is scoring 14ppg, and getting 9 rebounds per game, he has struggled with his shot, but he is still shooting a higher percentage than Tmac.

The entire team is struggling.....not just Luis.

Man, please know what you are talking about. Compare FG% of T-Mac and Scola? WTF! T-Mac is a 2/3 and Scola is a 4.

I agree but Scola doesn't have the offensive and defensive weight as TMac....he is not a playmaker and he most of his shots are rarely contested....I know Scola is a rookie and we shouldnt have to depend on him as much but if he played anywhere near as well as he played in the past, we would be a better team....It seems that Utah has taken his nutz and he is playing timid......missing wide open layups and getting schooled by Mehmet Okur on a drive????? come on now!!!

I think even in the likely hood that this team gets swept, it will be hard to look at this season as a failure. This team had a 22 game winning streak, showing what they are capable of if they have all of their pieces in place. They have 3 promising rookies that should only be better next year which should help solidify our starting lineup and our bench. I am hopeful for next season, and I pray for our 2 stars to play 75+ games next year.

Okay, you've convinced me. We are playing 3.6 to 9. (Deke only plays about 40% of the time). Still, I don't think I like the odds....

Maybe I should correct it to 3.6 to 10 since the next to games are in Utah and their fans are crazy.

It has been a surprisingly FUN season.

That winning streak was amazing. Continuing it like they did with YAO OUT was even more amazing.

Landry was a beast during the streak, and Scola was the man!

Whe the heck cares what position they play?

I am comparing their FG%....Luis shoots elbow jumpers too......

Luis is up 4ppg and 3rpg from his regular season averages, what is the rest of the team doing?

He is struggling but he is NOT the problem.

Man......get a clue...the entire team is struggling shooting the ball......well, everyone except Battier.

I don't think anyone's struggling more than expected accept Scola. He is blowing easy layups everyone else is missing their jumpshots.

You can't blame him though, its not like he has a big next to him to divert attention. The rockets just need to get some more talent before we can judge who performs to our liking because right now its hard to ask anyone to be productive.

The only time we seem to be doing well is when we have all of our best offensive threats on the court. Its said that our best O lineup is two rookies, and undersized 2, a defensive 3, and tmac. When one or more of them come off the court, the guys that come in get no respect from the defense.

As I look back on the season that appears ready to end I reflect on several things both good and bad...

    The Good

Overall the season was a success. We won a lot of games and finished in the middle of perhaps the best conference of all time from top to ...well near bottom. We made history with a 22 game winning streak, and we saw a team that showed flashes of being brilliant and able to run Adelmann's O while maintaining the stingy D. Our future looks promising with some very talented young guys that we need ot hold on to.

    The Bad

Yet again our 14mil man misses almost half the season with an injury, and the important half at that (eventually you will all realize I was right about Yao). All of our bench players are one trick ponies or good but undersized. Tmac is a stud but clearly he cannot carry the team by himself...then again neither can Kobe or Lebron or anyone not named Michael Jordan.

    The Future

If I were in control of the Rox this offseason...TRADE YAO first and foremost. The guy gets hurt every year for the last 3 and for huge amounts of time, and is an underachiever on defense. Fortunately all his injuries have been somewhat freaky situations and he is still young and has the potential to be a 20-10 guy every night and the best center in the league which means we should be able to get a lot in return for him. We can't trade Tmac mostly because there is no way we get anything near fair value for him. We probably trade our picks for either future picks for combine them for proven players because right now we are set in the youth catagory. Keep either head or novak, no need for both since they are both pretty much spot shooters. I love Landry, Scola and Hayes. I also love Rafer and Bobby Jackson is a fine reserve PG but as we are seeing his shootfirst mentality does not go well with TMac. So basically I am looking to trade Yao and picks for a decent big man who has more range and quickness than Yao and a offensive minded SF or SG, and possibly picks in 2 to 3 years. Unfortunately we have too much invested in Yao at this point and I just dont see this happening so until then I guess I will just hope that Yao somehow manages to stay healthy and we pick up Mike Miller in the offseason.
