you are the best thing to happen to the rockets since rudy decided to take over for don chaney. it was you who made the season special with some of the absolute best coaching the nba has seen in quite some time. congrats on your 900 wins and i hope you sign a long term extension soon. you are absolutely a godsend for this team.

Yes RA knows how to develope the Rooks and understands the O side of things but next season is back to D.

What did Shane say in his interview? This team plays with "togetherness, toughness, and a no-excuses mentality."

The way RA got the team to believe these games are worth something after we had already been eliminated from the playoffs (instead of tanking) is a testimony to his coaching philosophy. The players listen to him and as someone said, will run through a wall for him.

We may not have gone to the playoffs but this year must be one of his best coaching stints ever.

Bad records develop rookies as they get more burn and opportunities to work on their skills. Ask Gerald Wallace or even our own Kevin Martin about developing under Adelman and they'll attest to this. I give more credit to guys like

1: Rudy who developed Sam I Am while fielding a championship squad

2: JVG who developed Yao and Chuck Hayes (hell, even Luther Head) while fielding a perennial playoff team

3: Phil Jackson who developed Shannon Brown and Trevor Ariza while fielding a championship squad.

Btw, that's nothing against Adelman as a coach. He's done a fantastic job this year coaching and focusing an injury-riddled team to respectability.

Didn't JVG miss the playoffs one year? In fact wasn't that the year he developed Luther Head?

For that matter Adelman developed Brooks and Landry while making it to the second round of the playoffs.

JVG had the luxury of having either Yao or Tmac relatively un-injured for most of the regular season. His forte was bringing in washed up old knicks, not developing rookies.

i dont know if any of yall caught it, but RA basically spent the half postgame press conference talking about how proud he is of the team, and the other half discussing the rockets D, or lack thereof, near the end of the season, and his plans to remedy it.

its nice to know we have a coach whos already thinking and talking about the 2010-2011 season 30 minutes into the offseason.

He "developed" Landry by letting him rot on the bench until Yao went down. Nice move.

I saw what Adelman could do Portland and Sac while growing up in Sacramento(golden state don't count). We will have more talent next year than those Kings teams ever had. He will catch Don Nelson while coaching the Rockets. I'd put Adelman in the HOF before Nelson any day of the week.

He lifted the morale of this team. It's time for him to take off the monocle and place it in the safe box for the next 2 months, a well deserved rest. Now where the heck is the new photoshop the offseason thread?

 i guess Rick should have started Landry in his rookie season and given him 20-30 mins. you know, so they could make the playoffs...
