For the first and hopefully last time: Ditto, ZRB. Well said. Bye Hakeem, see you when you come out the Golden State. CBFC ------------------ Join the Chucky Brown Fan Club
Good luck Dream. I definitely agree with the Rockets and that we couldn't mortgage our future to keep him, but I wish him luck in Toronto. ------------------ Draftsource.net-- the premier source for draft info. Profiles, rankings, mock drafts, and more! The Mo Taylor Fan Site
thanks for those draft picks. hope you don't annoy your new team too much. have fun in Canada. ------------------ Rockets 2001: lo creo, lo creo!!
It is a sad day in Houston but it was inevitable. Like Cat I agree with the Rockets position but I do wish Dream luck and hope to see him as a starter in next years all star game as well as the finals. Good luck Dream and thanks for the last two Decades. ------------------ Women can not fart, belch or burp...therefore they must b**** or they will explode.
I for one, am relieved. In the words of Curley Bill: "Well.......BYE." ------------------ My doctor says I am bipolar. I am going to get a second opinion. I have never had intimate desires for polar bears.
It's a sad day in Houston to be losing Hakeem. He is without a doubt the greatest player, the greatest athlete, the city has ever known and may ever know. I really hope they give him a statue outside the new building. That said, I applaud the Rockets for not caving into his salary demands. We couldn't afford the extravagance of paying for the sake of sentimentality. ------------------ I'm so amazingly cool you could keep a side of meat in me for a month. Does anyone realise that our starting center is Cato!?!?!?!? Rudy T and CD better have something planned. ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/australiannbafans
I think I'm going to watch Hakeem punish the T-Wolves now. ------------------ Protrolls.com! I will always be a fan of Hakeem "the Dream" Olajuwon. The ZRBucks!
ZRB, I agree with you. Lets hope Hakeem does his best and takes the Raptors places. ------------------
ZRB....I sincerely sympathize w/ how you must feel right now...b/c I feel much the same way. All this time I was ready to ship Dream off and be over with this whole deal, but as soon as it all became official, I really really felt very sad. My first reaction was that now I will automatically be a Raptors fan as well. I really hope they do well this season and Dream proves all the naysayers wrong in the playoffs. Again, sorry if I have posted any msgs in the past couple weeks that were not considerate of your views on Dream. ------------------
Ouch. I'm the same age as Hakeem, and don't blame him TOO much, etc... I think this is somewhat understandable of him... but ouch. I just feel kind of old all of a sudden... it's a f***in milestone I never looked forward to... hmmm. I agree, tariq. What the hell. Might as well take the high road here. It would be cool to see him be right about what he still has to offer, even playing for Toronto... I live in Vermont, haven't lived in Houston since I was 10 (by then I had totally bonded for life with Houston sports), but got to see him play live once, in '82, I believe, playing against Boston College and little Michael Adams in the Midwest Regional Finals in St. Louis. The game was sold out because everyone thought it would be Missouri against Kansas, but the fledgling Phi Slamma Jammans and BC pulled the upsets, me and my friend drove to the game, walked up and bought seats 2 rows behind the Cougar bench for $5 each from some pissed-off Mizzou fans... it was awesome. Reid Gettys nailed 10 straight free throws at the end of the game to clinch it. My heroes... was a zombie for days after NC State the next year... ah, me... feeling like an old zombie now... Knew it was going to happen, but still, it's kind of bizarre to deal with, somehow... Good luck, there, Dream! Thanks for the awesome memories! hmmm.
y'all will forgive an old zombie a double post in a time of distress, won't you? [This message has been edited by burlesk (edited August 01, 2001).]
this should bring back some memories..it did for me...will miss you big fella... Thanks Dream for forever leaving me with that image of the X-man wondering what type of surface to air missile hit him. You will sorely be missed in H-Town and I'm sure Suuuga Lan. Good luck in Toronto. ------------------ "We need to FOCASS".... Akeem Olajuwon
Hakeem is in the Eastern conference. Hakeem is in the same division as Patrick Ewing. Hakeem is in another uniform. This is now a reality...... You can take away our future, but you can never take away our past. I wish the Dream the best, and I still believe in his ability. I believe he will put the Raptors over the top, but I will never ever ever stop believing in the HOUSTON ROCKETS!!! This is where Steve Francis takes over..... ------------------ "I can honestly say I feel I guarded the man pretty well, but the guy is playing better than anyone I have seen in a long time" David Robinson on The Dream 95
I hope Dream does make it to the finals and does a supurb job against shaq. I still believe in the greatest player in Houston sports history. Good luck Dream. I hope you make noise in canada. ------------------ I have seen much of the rest of the web. It is brutal and cruel and dark. CC.net is the light.
Actually Dream is in a separate division then Ewing, but he'll get his hands on him 3 or 4 times a year anyway! ------------------ What if I say to you that the universe is a three-legged horse, eh? What then? - Russell Hoban
Well the Dream has ended. I never thought that: 1) a no rebounding PF (Taylor) 2) a no shooting/dribbling shooting SG (SA) 3) a no defense/rebounding forward (Bull) 4) a CBA talent point guard (Moochie) would be the "future" of our beloved franchise at the expense of Dream. Oh well, its a new era. Good luck Rockets, good luck and goodbye Dream. This is the dawn of the Cato era and please spare me the crap about EG will compensate for Taylor's lack of rebounding and shot blocking. ------------------ Respect Hakeem's legacy.
