I was never a big JVG supporter or even a hater, but I am sad to see him go. He truly had the respect of his players, and I do not think we will find a coach who is more passionate. The lyrics to the song "thanks for the memories" are fitting..

I do think rockets organization as a whole needs to learn how to treat its personnel with more respect...

"One night and one more time
Thanks for the memories even though
    They werent so great"

Jeff, you were very undervalued as the Rockets coach. I hope we don't regret Les' blunder. Thanks for getting rid of Steve Francis.

thanks JVG! Thanks for the tickets and my most memorable season ever!

By some standards, JVG was a huge success. I think he had some bad breaks and the stars just never aligned for him here. A lessor coach probably couldn't achieve what he had given the players he had to work with.

All that said, I hope our new coach can bring a more exciting brand of basketball while BUILDING on what JVG started.

Thanks for two game 7 heartbreakers.
Thanks for blowing two 2-0 leads.
Thanks for three first round exits.

Sorry, I may respect the person, but his memories as a coach aren't exactly the greatest.

No one demanded more of himself and his team than you. I really respect and admire that. I defended you for 4 years, but in the end, I got tired of your offense relying too much on 3-pointers.

Good luck, JVG. Thanks for all your hard work.

There will always be a special little place in my basketball fan heart for JVG. He had a great sarcastic humor that made listening to his interviews a lot of fun and he was Chuck's first NBA coach (hopefully not his only!! :)) Plus his defensive coordination was stellar to watch for those of us who enjoy that part of the game.

And by the end of this season I even understood his substitution patterns (a process that failed me last year)

Good Luck JVG!! If you stay in the broadcast booth I will be watching!

Mod please condense all these JVG "thank you notes" into one sticky and also make a new one to discuss all future coaching changes.

    Thank You

JVG I liked you as a person but not your 'Win Now' game plan or the limitations of having you as our Head Coach. You neglected to develop Novac and V.Span, only time will tell if you are right!

I will also miss JVG. He was a great coach, and he coached a style that is dying in the NBA. And you know what? The team was BETTER because of it. Down with run-and-gun! Vive la halfcourt!
