This is to thank Tracy McGrady for playing so hard for our team. When Yao went down and it looked like our season could go south again Tracy stepped up and carried the team on his back. He consistently created open shots for guys like Hayes, and all of our 3pt perimeter shooters. When Yao was on the team Tracy made shots for him. In game 1 of the playoffs he started out slow but came back and lead us to victory. In game 5 he got everyone else involved and still took over when we needed him. In game 6... There is no two ways about it. He disappeared when we needed him to help close out the Jazz. I won't make excuses for him. In game 7... He did a great job. He was coming out of nowhere making blocks and stops on the defensive end. He was scoring, he was getting others involved as much as possible. It wasn't his fault that we let the Jazz get offensive rebound after offensive rebound in the final moments of the game that gave the Jazz the chance they needed to win. As far as him saying "It's on me." It wasn't smart to say, but it wasn't a big deal. This whole season we didn't play a game on TNT without the commentators talking about Tracy needs to step up and be a leader, and until he takes a team out of the 1st round he isn't a leader. People have been saying it on this board all season long. So in an effort to pump himself up, and appease the critics T-mac gives in, and makes a move to show people that he has heart and willing to take responsibility. He comes out and says what everyone else has been saying since 2005. As soon as he does, though he starts taking a backlash from many of the same people who were saying the same things themselves all along. Somehow its OK when they say it, but a mortal sin when Tracy does it. The fact is more than any other player on our team this post season, Tracy lead the team. He wasn't perfect, and I don't mind giving him a share of the blame. But there are far bigger culprits than Tracy when it comes to the reasons we lost to the Jazz. All in all it was a failure that our team couldn't get out of the first round against the Jazz. We had our opportunities and couldn't seize them. It was a team let down, though, and not a Tracy let down. I appreciate the effort and work he put in both during the regular season and during the playoffs. It was fun to watch. Thanks Tracy.
Tmac 0wnz! We lost because the rest of our team is a bunch of weak scrubs not because of Tmac OR Yao.
Tracy laid it all on the floor last nite. He always had my respect, even more so now. Next year will be different
thanks t-mac. altho i think it was a really a shrewd move by t-mac for saying 'its all on me'. i think he deliberately said it to take pressure off all the other guys. i really hope the rockets make big aquisitions this offseason.
I agree he played hard, but danm this guy is a shell of his former self, he's 28 but damn he plays like he's 34!!! He's got to go, you gotta be able to realize that he's making too much money for what he brings to the team. He's going to hold us down, atleast Yao has improved every year he's been in the NBA, Tracy is on the other side of the tracks. IT"S OVER.
He said it's on him - but it really isn't on him at all. Who would have known that: His role players wouldn't contribute. Yao Ming was outplayed by Okur/Boozer. JVG was outcoached by sloan Tracy McGrady rocks! Hopefully he'll get out of the first round sometime in his career.
No hard feeling tmac but you mouth is faster than your basketball. I'm not saying that you suck, it's just that you should know how to keep your mouth shut. This is no WWF, this is NBA. People likes to see more action, not to listen trash talking. Haven't you learned your lesson, from Orlando and twice here in Houston. Grow up.
You should really refrain from polluting this board with your hate. The Toronto Raptors Board is right here Toronto Raptors Forum.
You're right without T-Mac this season wouldn't have been nearly as successful as it was but at the same time if T-Mac could've played more consistently aggressive we could've won this series. In the end though no single Rocket deserves all the blame and the Rox lost as a team. T-Mac played tough but no one stepped up when he needed help.
hey chrisbosh, stay in toronto we dont want you here with your negative comments about tmac. yeah sure in the beginning of the season he was a shell of his former self but come on he was in double digits with assists and points, what more do you want? (its rhetorical thanks)
Tmac, Hakeem lost in back to back NCAA championship games. He lost in the 1986 NBA finals. He perhaps hit his low In 1992, when he was accused of faking an injury by the organization and fans alike. But all that was forgotten. He came back stronger and hungier every year. It finally paid off ten years later with two championships and a MVP award. As a result, he is now remembered as a legend in Houston and one of the greatest ever. It's your turn. I know today hurt and that tomorrow the doubters will be out in force. Ignore them, come back stronger and hungier next year. It will eventually pay off; everything that happened before will be forgotten, you too will be remembered as a legend. We, your fans, will be waiting.
I have a tremendous amount of respect for Mcgrady. He did everything he can. This loss cannot be attributed to anything he did or did not do, but rather, what the rest of the team did or did not do. Scap the whole team, save for T-Mac.
