I wanted to get this in before the draft today, before we get distracted with deals being done and player movement, either here or elsewhere. Having spent a little time around some of the guys who are at work behind the scenes at the Rockets' front office, that never really get the recognition they deserve, I wanted to make this thread. Hopefully you join me in thanking our entire FO for putting in 24 hour days, sleeping at the TC, and working on about 100 trades that amount to nothing for every 1 that even gets past the preliminary stages. So here's my list of thank you's. Feel free to add your own! - Thank you for rebuilding the faith of the Houston Rockets fan base in our FO's ability to make logical, sound personnel decisions, both in the long and short run. - Thank you for all the work you do that amounts to nothing, but helps you understand what deals are actually worth something. - Thank you for accumulating tradeable assets, being fiscally responsible with the contracts of our players, and creating a situation where the different pieces of our roster are in demand around the league. - Thank you for assembling a roster full of guys that I like rooting for (with one notable exception that may or may not wear jersey #1) that continually capture the imagination of this city and provide us with positive role models. - Thank you for all the less-than-ideal trades that you haven't done. - Related to the above: Thank you for not being the Astros. - Thank you for doing your homework on every player in every situation, so that when opportunities arise you are able to make moves while others are busy looking at it for the first time. - Thank you for having a plan, and sticking to it, so that we might see our hardworking, professional team of basketball players hoisting a trophy soon. - Thank you for not capitulating to the economic forces that are currently destroying talented playoff teams across the league. In short, thank you for giving us Rockets fans something to be excited about come draft time, the trade deadline, the offseason, and most importantly the Playoffs. It has been too long since I've had the kind of faith in management that I have in your ability to do the right thing in building a winner. It is a great time to be a Rockets fan, because of your effort. Now don't screw it up.
Thank you management for assembling a great roster and working to improve it. Now medical staff please keep them healthy!

Oh and did I mention you have the worst ***king timing ever. I guarantee you he will not read this before draft. All you did was give me a false hope that you are actually thanking him for something he has accomplished in this draft. What a waste of space!
Daryl Morey, the Magician as referred to by some, is the single biggest reason I have faith in us winning it all one day, soon. Not Yao. Not Adelman. Not our newly anointed allstar PG Brooks. Daryl Morey, for every reason you listed, and some, will lead us in the right direction. Dork Elvis! Show us the way!
I think the timing is perfect, you clicked on it didnt you? Seems to have worked to me. I agree, there is alot of hard work being put in that we dont see, now is definately the time to thank the FO for that.
The timing is perfect because we should be thankful regardless of what happens today. Basketball(professional sports), much like other games that have a factor of luck involved such as Poker, or Stocks, is all about the PROCESS. The results will take care of itself eventually. You can't get it right every time, but it is clear that Morey has a sound and logical game plan, and conviction to follow through. I am confident he will never act out of desperation or emotion. Every year he is proving he is one of the best in the business.
Welcomed distraction from the mind-numbing trade talks. I am thankful that someone in the TC are doing the real trade talks for us and their minds are not numbed. Thank you Morey and staff, that for once in my whole Rockets fans career, when I have doubt in a trade scenario, such as this Amare one, I can rest assured that the GM is actually smarter than me.
Yay Rockets mgmt...thanks for sitting on your ass while the other contending teams are adding players for nothing in what is turning out to be an arms war!! I appreciate what you guys have been doing....but if y'all sit around and do nothing while other teams improve their rosters for nothing then this fan here will be pretty pissed off...... I'll still be a fan...just an upset one for the time being.
So whatv the hellis going on today? i'm in LA right now and cant listen to any Houston Sports Radio. I'm gonna be very dissapointed if I come back in 3 days and we have'nt made a big trade. Sitting on those nice candy asses. We can win with what we have.OOOOOOOOO!!!!! Sickening.
Way to take it lightly, Rock I saw a sliver of the title and got my hopes up a bit, too. Then I read the post, and it put my anixousness at bay, convinced me that we would not take Amare (thank God) and made me feel hopefull, so thanks for the post!
basically 90+% of Rocket nation thinks we need to make some serious moves I'm thankful for Daryl Morey and I know he's working very hard but we haven't done anything yet.
