Patrick will write a weekly column for the Time Inc.-owned magazine beginning in January, Sports Illustrated said. The company's digital unit will host DanPatrick.com, which will carry his radio show. ``As soon as we got a whiff that Dan was thinking about leaving ESPN, we got very, very interested,'' said Terry McDonell, editor of the Sports Illustrated Group. Patrick, who left Walt Disney Co.'s ESPN earlier this year after joining the network in 1989, started a syndication deal with the Content Factory, a Chicago-based distributor. Sports Illustrated will collaborate with the Content Factory to produce Patrick's Web site, the companies said. They will start a new version of the site early next year. Under the agreement, Patrick will also contribute blogs to Sports Illustrated's ``Fan Nation'' site and host the magazine's Sportsman of the Year Award show on Dec. 4. ``I'm walking down the aisle with SI,'' Patrick said on a conference call. He said he was exclusively producing content for Sports Illustrated, with the exception of television. Time Warner shares declined 15 cents to $18.37 at 4:04 p.m. in New York Stock Exchange composite trading. Shares of the New York-based company have lost 16 percent this year.
Just need him to replace Rome on 1300 here in Austin. Though, I do really like the new Mike Tirico show. I like that he has different co-hosts every day.
His radio show was terrible. Can't believe someone is bringing it back. Only thing worse would be if they got the equally horrible Rob Dibble to co-host again.
his radio show was 10 times better than rome...i used to listen to it, cuz rome sucked, and i enjoyed it.
His show is okay. His interviews are well done, and the segment with Keith Olberman is fantastic. But his general monologues about whatever topic of the day isn't anything special.
Don't dis on Rob Dibble. That man made baseball in Cincinnati tolerably entertaining for a few years.
I like Dan and Trico too. I was hoping they would try and go younger and give Van Pelt the show because whenever Van Peezzy or Van Pizzle was filling in for Cowherd of Patrick, I always enjoyed those shows.
He was still ****ty on the radio. Dan Patrick show got way better when he left. Dibble fits right in on Best Damn Sports show, because no one watches it.
Dan Patrick is the reason I started to listening to AM radio. He's my favorite, easily, a great combination of dry humor and serious sports talk. Tirico isn't bad.
his show is already on the air in LA on KLAC Radio, coming in before Rome and I think somebody posted an interview with T-Mac from just the other day... i dont understand how stations dont play these programs live and give the fans a chance to call in their opinions.... its 6AM-9AM Pacific time, (9-12 on the East Coast)
