shoot 3-16 in a game or the posters' heads would have exploded. where is all the rafer hate for brooks when he stinks it up?
Someone should start a thread "Aaron Brooks is still a ballhog" or "How much does a fg count for if a pg scores it?"
Brooks was terrible tonight but: 1. He's our fourth string point guard. We don't have as much invested in him as we did Rafer last season. 2. He's a rookie. It seems like even most of the harsher posters on clutchfans generally like to wait at least a few months into the season before they start hating rookies. Until then we make excuses and talk about their potential. I expect somebody to blame Adelman for 'destroying his confidence' soon.
good point when a player stinks it up the blame goes to the coach. when a player plays well, he did it despite the coach. the board be loving to hate on coaches.
Our heads may still explode, but only if Brooks does this fairly often for 8 years, his coach rewards him with a full-time gig, passes on getting a quality backup, rips fans who see a problem and plays him 44+ minutes a night in the playoffs.
clutch with some jvg hate...way to digress! still wanting to see vspan huh clutch? in the playoffs no less!
didn't JVG block the trade that would have gotten us Mike James last yr? playing rafer that much was ALL on JVG and the guy lost his job for it. By the way, did you notice that Yao and Mac were not playing? Rafer can easily pull off a 3 for 16 night with both of them in there. Brooks showed me that he can get past anyone. His quickness on that one fastbreak was amazing, although he missed the layup. He was off tonight. Ive asked this before and I'll ask it again, were was rafer at age 22?
No, no ... frustrating, but I like JVG (even though his Rafer faith proved costly). No V-Span by that time ... that's well-documented. Mike James as a compliment would have been nice. My point is you can't really compare a 4th-string rookie PG playing in his first significant NBA action, preseason no less, to a 9-year player that has been logging major, uncontested time here for two seasons.
Alsmost as bad as having 8 years of Alston Blinders on. "This year he will get it...this year he doesnt run the offense...this year he doesnt have to be the third scorer." Yet in in career, he hasnt had to do any of those things for the most part and was still a .380 career shooter. Just think, for as terrible as brooks was if he hits a mere 3 more shots, then he managed to do as well as Alstons career average. LOL.
james for howard with no other power forward on the team would have been a risky trade especially without yao who was hurt, but jvg and cd blew it by not making that trade...would have given us a scorer off the bench
Looks like denniscd posts more about other posters rather than the Rockets. Is that your only goal here now? And FYI, I'm not one of the people you're targeting here. You can look up my past posts on Rafer. My only real gripe w/ him was his decision making in last second situations.
this is bad timing considering that Rafer was 1 for 6 last time he stepped onto the court, which is worse than 3 for 16
Code: The Rockets were without starters Yao Ming, Steve Francis and Tracy McGrady, who did not dress, providing a look at Synder as well as rookies Brooks from Oregon and Scola from Argentina. --nba.com So no mentions of rafer as our starters, hmmmm
