Due to injuries, the Swiss Guard is playing lot of minutes, and had two 20-pt games recently. He's showing decent dribbling ability, playing backup PG to Duhon. Also showing very good defensive ability-- both atheleticism and awareness. Still raw on decision making (can be pressed into a turnover) and somewhat spotty shot (has 3 pt range, but hasn't hit a high rate).

I can see why the Rockets thought highly of him. Still glad they got Shane (this team don't need no more subpar shooting), but Thabo has a future in the league.

Multiple Rudy Gay threads are on this forum. Why no Thabo, especially since Thabo was the one the Rockets actually wanted.

Thabo would have been a mistake too. Maybe worst than actually trading Gay for Shane.

Why would Thabo be a mistake? We wanted to trade down to get him. He might not be worth the 12th pick, but he's certainly worth a shot when Gay is off the table.

Thabo has been good in the recent games but dude has been on the milk carton many more times then that.

You guys think that Thabo or Gay would have defended the opposing team's best wing player like Shane has been doing with the same success?

Cause that's what that trade boils down to...so TMac didn't get worn down defending the other team's best wing player, yet still keeping that player in check. TMac would still do that trade 10 out of 10 times to this day.

He's played well recently and showed a few things the last 10 or so games. Let's see if it lasts or he disappears again.

I believe JVG was very high on Thabo. He said the team would have traded down and selected Thabo at 12 or so. Morey loved Battier from the start.

Why trade down when Gay was not off the table when we had the pick? Plus, Battier > Thabo & Stromile

Thabo has been impressive of late.

Indeed I now see what the Rox front office saw in him.

Hopefully years/series/strings of bad drafts are behind us.
