It was unfortunate one team had to lose today since both played their asses off yesterday. Baylor led for much of the game. Texas took the lead in the 8th. The Bears tied the game in the 9th by scoring 2 runs off Huston Street! In the 10th, Curtis Thigpen won the game for the Longhorns with a 2 run HR.

    It's postseason college baseball time....ahh :D

Does this yield us a spot in the college world series?

And, since Texas beat A&M twice on Saturday, my Aggie officemate will be taking me out for a nice big ol' lunch this week! He was giving me serious shizznit late last week, even wearing his A&M golf shirt and leaving his Aggie baseball bobblehead on my desk. So I made the bet, and he said "YOU'RE ON".

He walked in this morning with his tail between his legs, and all I had to say to him was...

    WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!

    :D

Wow, the NCAA selection committee gave Texas the shaft today. Not only did UT not get a national seed, but the team they are paired with in the super regionals is Florida State -- the number one national seed. Wow, it's almost as if the Big XII tournament championship was meaningless to the committee. I wonder if the committee is attempting to make up for allowing Texas to win last year while they were committing rules infractions? UT is currently on probation because of that. Very interesting.

    Don,

They have to win their regional and super regional first.

I can't see them not being the number 1 seed in the Austin regional though, being top 10 and defending champs and all.

And I never ever want to play UCLA in any sport again.

The girls had them, and lost the lead and the game on the final out. Btw, why didnt they play the infield deep to prevent a grounder from getting through.

Most softball players are lucky if they can do that much against Osterman.

Top 6 finish this year, top 5 the year before. Great for 99% of the programs, but not enough at Texas. We want to see a NC very soon.

Now, as for the other sports, everything is pretty much business as usual. It helps to be rich I guess. :)

That's what they get for running a shady program. Hope they enjoy Tallahassee.

On the field as well. I heard that the Texas players plan to blind their opponents with their national championship rings.

Can Rice do that? In any sport?

UH really lucked out this year. I didn't think that we would make Regionals, since we had a pretty mediocre record. Oh well, we beat 'Bama at the beginning of the season, and we beat the Aggies in College Station, so I'm looking forward to a Rice-UH rematch in the Super Regional (even though they made us their b****es in the Silver Glove series).

    GO COOGS!

That ATM team is very good. Will be rooting for you guys though.

BTW, how the hell did 34 win UF get in? 8 SEC teams? Unbelievable.

Do you really like talking about things you have no clue about?

Augie had some small, very minor recruiting violation. UT isn't a shady athletic school, sorry to break it to you. And do you really think stuff like that doesn't go on regularly in today's college athletics.

We won the national championship fair and square last year. If you really think UT is a school based on cheating, get a life.

Btw, just because you graduated from a good private school in Rice, doesn't make UT inferior, or a bunch of overrated cheating wannabe smart people. Most students at UT are very bright, including myself, and you and TJ's arrogance concerning Rice academics is annoying and stupid to say the least.

And for your information, most UT students aren't arrogant about our athletic prowess.

Do we expect to win? Yes. But do I not respect OU, or the Aggies, or Rice baseball, or UCLA softball? Yes, I do respect them.

It's a luxury that I'm attending a college so good at all athletic sports for the most part since that is my passion.

Every school has a few bad apples who ruin it for the rest of the students, and UT is not different, but I take pride that I go to one of the most prestigious public universities in the United States that fits my lifelong passion:

    Sports.

A degree from UT is just as notable and respected in most fields as one is from Rice anyway.

I've been at UT...and I've been at Rice. UT students have sex. Rice students, in their wildest wet dreams, cheat on take-home tests.

I'd like to see some proof that the punishments given to UT for the Quintanilla and assistant coach incidents were against the norm for other similar violations. I'm guessing they weren't.

Calm down, champ. I've never made any derrogatory comments about a degree from UT. I understand it is a good school. Sounds like you have a lot of pent-up anger.
Simma down, now! You need a SIMMER with a side of SIMMER!
